What is this in response to?

Not one thing in particular, just sort of the culmination of the reports out there that he hasn’t taken the deal they offered and doesn’t want to negotiate and that teams are calling on him

Tocchet basically saying he’s been mid. Vancouver media and fans putting our trade proposals. Etc

So, are we cheering for a Van/Dall con finals? A couple extra picks potentially if that happens....

Nope. Dallas coming out of the west sure, but we want Vancouver to slump down the stretch and then get eliminated in the first 2 rounds so their 1st is as high as possible I think that's better than a 4th becoming a 3rd.

I agree it would be better if Van gets upset in the 1st rnd.
If they make the 2nd, it might be better to get the upgraded 3rd.

it doesn't matter if its a first or second round exit.

the picks are ordered:
1 thru 16: Non-playoff teams
17 thru 25-28*: Non division winners eliminated in rounds 1 & 2
25-28*: Division winners that lose in rounds 1 & 2
29 & 30: Conference Final Losers
31: Cup final loser
32: Cup winner

* varies based on how many division winners do not advance to the 3rd round

He’s so bad  classic. Most overrated GM in history
I don't think he was actually that bad. I just think his weaknesses (mid-season trades most significant among them. His draft day trades for the most part were decent enough) were so bad given what he acquired. 6/7 defencemen for third round picks consistently, when the majority of them we had similar guys in the AHL who could have filled that role and we could have kept the pick. His RFA deals for the most part were good (Dougie, Lindholm, Hanifin, even Tkachuk, Monahan, and Gaudreau were good deals, even if the Gaudreau one kind of burnt us in the end), but his UFA signings outside of a couple exceptions, were pretty horrendous. And his revamp of the front office actually was a huge game changer for us (our scouting department alone grew massively, and we've seen a lot of benefits to that already).

Treliving was far better than Feaster ever was. But so far, Conroy is better than Tre without question (though sample size is a thing to be wary of).
