Podz plays a very simple North-South game and wasn't using his advantages to make more out of overmatching players at the AHL level. Plus, he's had questionable linemates for much of the season.

He was skating in circles on the perimeter in Abbotsford. If he played in straight lines like this and finished his checks down there he would have been much more productive.

Definitely could be coaching; it was also a pattern during his previous stint too. Based on the rest of his game, maybe he's getting better differentiating between game management and hesitation.
