They are probably somewhere between last season and this season.

Which puts them in the playoffs. Give them wins against the bottom feeders and they're right there. 110+ points? Probably not. Probably not 84 points either but 93-97? I don't see why not.

I agree... I was saying the same thing.. it made no sense... then folks were saying it was necessary after the road trip and Fitz had to do it to prevent the chants...

I disagreed... firing Ruff and replacing him with Green at that time was a stupid panic move!!!

I can see why it was done. It was a mercy firing.

That said, I wouldn't have participated in those chants. Maybe during tonight's game I would have if Lindy was still here, but he was never coming back anyway if we missed the playoffs, and I think a lot of people were afraid that he was going to.

I'm more afraid right now that Rogalski is going to be here next year than I was at any point after the new year that Ruff would be here next year if we missed the playoffs.

I didn’t think so but that dialogue at the end was downright weird. Bill: “what an honor and pleasure it’s been to work with you Ken and Bryce.”

Daneyko . . . Silence. (Long uncomfortable pause . . . Then Bryce starts talking about how great the fans have been).

The most graceless conduct possible from Ken Daneyko. I am ashamed for him. Common decency required him to say something mutual. Would it have been so hard just to be polite?

I can’t speak for Dano but at the start of this year he was extremely complimentary of Bill and how good he thought the two of them were together.

That could have changed over the course of this season but I’m guessing the pause was for a different reason then trying to make Bill look stupid.

I'm not one of the Fire Fitz guys, but he's gotta get it right next year. I can't blame anybody for being somewhat disillusioned with him. I am glad that he acquired two new goalies in-season and gave us a shakeup there, but the next shakeup needs to be getting rid of Rogalski and maybe some of these other guys that work in that department.

Truth be told, the fans will be rabid if we get off to a shaky start next year. I think last year bought enough goodwill that the fans played I thought exceptionally nice this year, other than Fire Lindy late in February and that was the last home game he ever coached

But they weren't playing nice in 2022. And I don't blame them. With the popping for Brunette and booing Ruff, followed by the chant on home opening night in 2022. To the roaring boos during the 1st period of the Ducks game when we were down 2-0 in the 1st period, before we came back to win. It's gonna get ugly again next year if we don't come out swinging.

A good GM would remove 75% of the roster. Sleepy Tom Fitzgerald won’t do it though. Sad!

Good riddance to this garbage season. This summer is gonna be interesting.

I'm still sticking with my opinion that this franchise reminds me of the early 2010s Golden State Warriors. But there needs to be a culture change to get them to the next level. A simple coaching and goalie change isn't enough.

Total opposite season from last lol. Have really disconnected from it towards the end. Big offseason. Hopefully with a healthy and tweaked roster and the right coach, the team can just put this one behind them next season lol. The coach is going to be the big decision. That's the one I'm worried about most. But eh, for now, at least there was some positive with Bratt, Nico, and Timo (later stretch of course) playing solid. And Nemec getting much more NHL experience than expected lol. I'm gonna be optimistic in saying that we'll look back on this season being the trigger towards dynasty because it exposed the team's flaws and was a needed reality check lol.

I think after that game everyone expected them to be able to go on a little run but they just completely and totally shit the bed in a spectacular way. They'll finish like 10 points out of WC2 and all they have to do was play maybe .650 hockey. The games against San Jose, Columbus, etc are inexcusable. This team just never had a killer instinct... or goaltending... or coaching. I'm glad it's over, this season sucked.

At least you had goaltending over the last 16 games or so. Outstanding goaltending that should've done exactly what you said and get us at least .650 or better hockey, and that might've put us on the bubble.

But this team found so many numerous ways to suck.

It really is devastating to think back to the Vegas odds at the beginning of the season, and how we felt after beating the Rags in the first round.

Green has amassed a 16-27-3 record in his last 46 games with better than league average goaltending.

I wouldn't doubt that he goes on to play like Vitek next year because he can't trust anyone and has to guess if anyone will ever take the pass away.

Georgiev is getting a lesson in this right now with the way the Avs are playing defense.
