These commercials are extremely cringe. None of them make me want to buy their products. In fact, for the first time in my life, i'm indifferent to this corporate salesmanship.

I have become very selective with what companies i give my money to and it feels GOOD.
They suck so hard that I'll go out of my way to avoid buying their products to punish them for annoying everyone so badly

@flyingkiwi @hangman005 I thought this thread was about the US and Canada? :sarcasm:

That said, I've caught some New Zealand TV before and the commercials are at least, well, different...
Yea and how your ads can't hold a candle to ours ;)

For real though, 10 years of NHL watching and I'm still not used to the game being interrupted by ads. If you've got ads on your game at home it means your family was too poor for cable (aka mine).

Team gets scored on, TV time out, aww Novus!

Show us you crack... aww Novus :biglaugh:

Update:

For a goverment Agency, ACC had some funny ads.

The drink driving mate mate mate one for when a team blows a lead.

Dave.

In hindsight a lot of our govt ads are pretty intense.

And the Ghost Chips ad, just because.

Can't believe I'm the first to bring up those incredibly obnoxious Questtrade ads.

They're terrible.

Also that smug idiot from the "Sports Interaction" betting ads. I almost feel bad for the guy at this point, I bet if you asked the actor even he'd say it's getting way too much airtime.

Sportsnet, for whatever reason, must be contractually obligated to play these same two ads during every single commercial break. Because they do. It's relentless.

Any ad for gambling

The local Hardrock ads are annoying and play often down here

People dancing in the street, spinning signs making betting sound fun when in reality it's an addiction to some that ruins households due to debt.
But hey, it makes money for the State.

MGM ones got annoying too.

"Alcohol/cigarette commercials send the wrong message. It destroys peoples lives!"

"Gambling ads are completely fine. People need to be responsible for their own lives!"

"Smoking is EVIL, and all smokers should be reminded of this every single day, so we're going to start labeling their cigarettes individually!":scared:

"Try any of our latest Ontario craft brewed IPAs, complete with a free recipe book for great meals to pair with your alcohol, available at your local LCBO! Oh, and please drink responsibly!" :)

I don't smoke, but I don't think I've seen an ad for cigarettes in about twenty years. I see ads for alcohol all the time.

The gambling is quite a bit worse than the alcohol. You don’t see broadcasters with a beer during the game, but they’re all too eager to give you the odds mid game. It’s beyond disgusting.

Grates me every time. Not even only because of how disingenuous it is but having to hear the old and 'sold out' voice of the once great Chris Cuthburt is a real shot to the kidneys. RIP

Edit: also the heir to the 'Boston Pizza' fortune also happens to be the GM of the Maple Leafs - so there's that as well.🙄

You're team is irrelevant so cheer for the Leafs.

The cell company commercials have become the worst, it's like they're competing with each other to make them worse than the other. As others have mentioned, the AT&T one that has 2 NBA stars emasculating themselves by singing a Christina Aguilera song they weren't old enough to remember. Then you have Verizon, whose current formula is "if you were in Arrested Development, we want you to be an annoying dipshit in our phone commercial". PANOS it means panoramic!
