Yeah, I would have taken him back at his current $2M, and if we had to give him more term just to ensure he stayed, I would have been ok with that too... $900k for just 1 year almost seems like taking advantage of his loyalty.
I hope the team remembers his loyalty after next season too, if a youngster does take his top-6 spot. He seems like a guy if you could just keep extending him for $900k you'd have no trouble keeping around the team for a few more years in Harpur's spot as the spare, at that price.
So maybe Forsberg signs that 6x$6M offer Poile lowballed him with too.
