Bone Tomahawk .. disappointed. Was hoping for a visually engaging cinematography type western landscape movie. The dialogue/writing was somewhat engaging but the pace was a slow burn and I need more big screen panaramic cinematography .. then the violence was contained to about 3 short scenes, everything else was 4 dudes talking around a camp fire.

Weird pace .. was there a story arc? I guess white knight saves damsel in distress.

Felt like a low budget movie all shot 30 mins outside LA
f*** that movie forever.

Hunger Games prequel .. it was okay, missed its mark imo. The first movie of this series was so good then it unravalled into Divergent type territory.

The dueling dual personalities of the main character Snow wasnt really fleshed out but my wife said the book went into it ...

idk .. my daughter picked it so I was hostage and perhaps hostile to it to begin with

Saw Fall Guy, It was a fun movie. Im not sure when or what happened but Ryan Gosling has been pretty funny this last year or so.

Also watched the Roast of Tom Brady last night on netflix. Some good jokes, and I liked them going commercial free and being able to use XXX words on netflix unlike the old comedy central ones. If you dont want to watch all of the 3 hours jump to the end for Bill, Peyton, and Tom.

Baby reindeer on Netflix. All I have to say is wow, very much worth a watch.

Finished it last week. Yep, probably one of the best shows Netflix has done in recent years. It is not an easy watch but the show balances humor, drama and seriousness extremely well.

Tales of the Empire. I give it a 7 out of 10. Not bad. I really liked Morgan Elsbeth as a character. I just wish the episodes had been longer and the characters had been better fleshed out. Tales of the Jedi with the brilliantly nuanced Dooku episodes were much better. But these weren't bad. Recommended.

I thought Shogun was okay. It did a great job of setting the stage, establishing characters and their relationships (albeit using the "European visits a foreign land" trope as its basis), and creating a lot of tension and drama from the looming conflict. But then it didn't really know how what to do with all of them, and it didn't stick the landing as a result.

Fallout was friggin awesome. No complaints. Love that they took the elements of the game and created something related but different. Plenty of hat-tips to the game.

I saw mention that it wasn't like Twisted Metal, which was surprising because that's the first thing that came to mind for me when I tried to find something to compare it to. If there are overlapping directors/writers/producers it wouldn't shock me.

But I guess there are bound to be similarities when you take any brutal video game and make it into a series.

Hard to explain, for me just had different vibes in a similar world-type. Twisted Metal is more over the top crazy fun, less serious overall.

Yeah they're not the same, just as the games differ, but there's something similar in the dark bloody humor at times, and the general treacherous journey theme, and some of the cinematography/effects/etc.

Zone of Interest - finally finished it. 4/5. Follows the mundane every day life of the director of Auschwitz whose family lives on a nice house on the grounds. They could be having tea or guests as if they were in a peaceful country side with the occassional gun shots or screams that go un recognized.

Stays mundane throughout. Like a non quirky Wes Anderson

Arthouse movie which I appreciate bc the director and people funding this know this wont be a money maker but seem to make it bc its performative art .. if I was more of a cineaphle I would probably be able to appreciate the nuances more.

Baby Reindeer - 4/5 range maybe. I thought it was good but not as good as most. Ep 4 was a rough watch. I liked ep 1-3 more then the second half.

Warrior - on HBO, watched S1 E1 .. idk man .. not sure me and wife are going to get into it. Bit of soft core porn with texas ranger kung fu fight scenes.
