It’s a win win, either those Vegas bums go out round 1 after their ltir shenanigans or a huge but fair weather Dallas market with a strong team gets dumped by the 100M team in the first round.

Second Round Predictions

Dallas over Avs - 7

Should be a great series. Dallas with the better goalie, better D and better forward depth, and Avs with the superior elite talent. Line matchups will be crucial for Dallas. Tanev played big minutes against Vegas top 6 and I don't think he was on the ice for a 5x5 goal against.

Oilers over Canucks - 6

If the refs don't fall for the Canucks constant diving and award them their usual slew of PP's, we should be okay. Should be a fun series.

FLA over Bruins - 5

Regular season series was all Bruins, but I think FLA is the better team. Caveat is if Bobrovsky craps the bed, which he is capable of, as the Bruins have the better goaltending.

Canes over Rags - 7

Going against the grain here, but I think the Canes will figure out the Rags PP, and will steal the series.

Some good news from the first round: Oilers beat LA convincingly. Vegas is out. Toronto is out. Vancouver is probably not as good as their regular season. Bad news Nashville and Winnipeg knocked out. Colorado/Dallas will be a tough test if the Oilers beat the Nucks.

The Oilers did much better this year than last. And it's not just the series score. They were the better team literally in every game, even when the Kings tried to put pressure. It was like Barcelona in its heyday vs a middling La Liga team.
