11 I'd do. + Krebs I wouldn't for a 1 year rental. It would have to be a prospect, and not Savoie or Kulich. I don't know if that breaks the deal.
My logic in trading Krebs is that he probably has the value of one of our non-Savoie/Kulich/Ostlund prospects and he could slide into the 3C spot cheaply for Florida. Bennett would basically be a direct replacement for him at center.

And I imagine that if we traded for Bennett, we'd extend him.

I just don’t see Florida dealing Bennett let alone to a divisional opponent. Letting Montour walk? Sure. His stat year last season looks like the outlier and if they pay him on that, it throws a shim into their salary structure big time, knocks it all out of whack.
Which is already going to happen after Reino's career season featuring a 24.5% shooting percentage.

Ah, yes. I keep forgetting that Paul is the one with the full NTC and Cirelli's hasn't kicked in yet...I keep thinking it';s the other way around.

Low cap hit, long deal, no NTC, and logs a ton of minutes = high value.

Adams is asking for trades but no one wants our prospects or picks

That’s pretty much why. So I don’t blame teams calling about him. You’d be a terrible GM if you weren’t.

I went through a mental exercise this morning with the various roles that they might be looking to address this offseason and some of the options that are out there.

It will be interesting to see what Adams actually pulls off this summer.
If Boone Jenner was actually available, at that contract (2 years left at 3.75M), I'd be all over it. Injury concerns, and probably not as productive as some of the other guys, but I think it's a good fit for what we need. Limited NTC could rule us out though.

This isn't what I would target, but just some of the positions and players that I have seen people talk about that I could see some sort of logic with regards to the Sabres adding this offseason.

The top 6 scoring winger was based largely on the Sabres trying to sign Patrick Kane last season and him hinting that he's testing the UFA market this summer.

As far as a top 4 RHD, I just think that they are likely to move Jokiharju and I think they need to bolster the D position because I don't think they can count on Samuelsson playing 70+ games in 2024-25. Chris Tanev is a perfect UFA D target for me in that he is a proven vet and a guy that could look good next to Dahlin, Power, or Byram. And then having Samuelsson-Clifton as the lockdown 3rd pair that can eat PK minutes is perfect for me.

And yeah, Cirelli is likely too expensive for Adams's taste. But, I would love to see him playing C for the Sabres. So, I put him on the list.

Gustavsson would be a roll of the dice because he didn't have a great year last year. Stolarz is the guy I would like the best. I just want a veteran guy to backup UPL to start the year and backup or be a 1B to Levi if UPL gets hurt. Stolarz has been good in that role and likely won't get a big deal this summer. But, I wouldn't expect a goalie without some sort of questions to be available this summer. Those kinds of goalies are rare and teams almost never move them if they get one.
RE Kane. I don't really understand those rumours aside from the fact he's from Buffalo. He's a great player still but this team doesn't need more skill & I'd see signing him as 'blocking' one of the younger skill forwards while at the same time not addressing this team's actual needs. My opinion hasn't changed since last offseason.

RE Top 4 D... I agree that Samuelsson's constant injury issues are a worry, but you have to roll with him at this point. I don't understand the rumours linking him with a move away. It wouldn't be a good look for Adams, besides he fills a great need in the top 4 & at this point i think he might be the key to unlocking Power, not simply as a bottom pair/PK specialist. I think the idea of signing a guy like Tanev as a UFA essentially offering him a bottom pair role on a team that isn't a contender sounds like a pipe dream. I totally agree that Jokiharju is likely out & imo he needs to be 'replaced' by a guy who's main asset is physicality.

RE Cirelli - it would be nice & in theory Adams could get him if TB decide to tear down & build for the future. Doesn't seem like they're ready for that though...he's also a little expensive in terms of salary for what he brings IMO. We can afford him short term, but what about long term?

RE goalies - quickly browsing the FA list there are actually some solid options potentially available. Stolarz put up some decent numbers this season, but how much is it to do with the team he is on?

Repeated ownership statements that they aren’t moving him would be another reason to doubt he moves.
