Interesting stat. Don't know what is your source but one thing is wrong for sure: All kids don't start puberty at 11-12. Some starts at 13-14 years old and yes, they can gain from 2" to 4" inches between 15 and 17. We see that quite often. It's also common to see a kid with early puberty (11-12) reach 5'7" at 13 years old and end up at 5'9" or less at 17. Xavier Parent was already 5'6"-130 pounds at 13 and he's still pretty much the same height (5'7"). Every case is different so I would stay away from that kind of stats to predict the growth of a single individual.
Kids Health and Growth Journal, boys do grow at different rates and times, they are not saying they don't but they do say 95% of boys growth starts the same time and rate of growth is the same. That is the info I passed along, you can always find some boys that grow out of the norm, grow more or not at all and I guess that they would fall into the 5%.

I would have assumed the Wild would be favoured in this match up with u17 Mount?
The wild was without their best defenceman, Crosby, and second line defenceman, Dawson, and one of their 1 st line forwards, Bowness. Missing them would of definitely hurt them in keeping in the fight the whole game. Look forward to watching both teams again with them back...

Don't agree at all. It's way more than 5%. Look at the standard deviation/normal distribution curves.

Once again this is not my area of expertise, only providing info that was published from a known source that collects such data. I didn't read all nor do I want to understand all information within such articles. Understand your point, lets move on...

Games are scheduled to start this week in NS. The province has a "no spectator" policy in place until at least Feb 7th... Teams have not played in 2 months, I am sure the excitement will shake the rust off pretty quick. Let's hope more teams get on the live stream options.

A few teams have contracts in place with live stream providers, I am sure this is playing into it as well....it's not just about the privacy act.

Watched a couple games over the weekend... I liked Jake Todd and Cole Burbidge. Both played complete games creating quality chances and were tough for the opposition to contain.

Todd/McPhee combo looked solid ..the problem was...South Shore looked awful, giving up nearly 100 shots in 2 games. Everyone on Cole Harbour looked good.

I think he has enough size to be impactful. Noticed a few players in the Pictou, Halifax game that looked strong

Two highly skilled and creative forwards. Only issue with Todd is the size.
Todd has a great motor, like you said, he is small and may struggle at the next level, but he will certainly give you 100%. McPhee, highly skilled, I do question his hockey IQ at times, he is a little to predictable at times and needs work on his game away from the puck. Can he play a bottom 6 role and be effective as 16 in the Q...might be just what needs to take his game to the next level!
Pictou did not look good on the weekend vs the leagues top team. The 05 group in Pictou are solid, they are all very similar type players playing the power forward type game, with Crosby being the best of the group. McGilivery on D has taken some good strides over the past year and has position himself as one of the top 05 D in NS, but our D group is not real deep this year. Halifax's 05's sometimes get lost in a strong lineup. I really like U18 teams that put a line of rookies together and let them go, similar to Moncton and CH. Ledrew has the most skill of the group, but really needs to work on his compete in all areas of the ice. Shortall , another power forward is a great skater and very physical, would like to see him add some creativity in his game, but like I said an 05 playing with 2 vets can sometimes fall victim to the respect game, leaving some of their best assets going unnoticed.

From Dartmouth I think Richardson is likely to play in the Q and I really like Pilgrim-Edwards but he may need two years of U18 because of his size. The others are junior A guys....including Green. Normandeau has really surprised me though, I thought skating would hurt him but it hasn’t at all.

from Pictou I like Crosby and Lochead, plus MacGillivary is coming on strong with a growth spurt. Wallace is decent but I don’t see the Q in his future, and I haven’t seen Mullen this year but he was always very slow. Tucker I quite like but he’s sooooo small and I don’t know how big he will get.

this is of course watching Dartmouth once and Pictou not at all....sadly I’ve judged by last year!!

To me, Green is a lock to play in the Q. Actually, he might be the player that goes the earliest in the draft who is playing Midget AAA in Nova Scotia right now.

His hockey sense isn't great and he turns over loads of pucks because he either won't or can't read a play. He's been Bedford's premier player since novice when he was massive but I don't even think he's as good as Normandeau or Foster now. Guaranteed they both have IQ over him. I wouldn't take him in top 3 and we likely won't know who's right for a couple years yet.

Up front in the NS U18 league, these guys I think will paly at least one full year of Q, which means I would take them before Green. Shortall, Todd, Pilgrim-Edwards, McPhee, Crosby and Lochead. The guys outside the league are Henderson, Burbidge, Peddle and possibly Grant. Total of 10 2005 forwards I see playing at some point. Several others will play a few games as a fill in though.

Not saying Green is going to be great, but I'd be very surprised to see him go later than round 3 in the draft. And that's not me loving Green, that's just what happens when you're 6'3 and have skill, you get drafted early. Normandaeu and Foster will be picked late in the draft.

Sometimes, you have good players with limited size, and you love their hockey sense and think they're better hockey players than bigger, more hyped players. For instance, I probably think Jake Todd is a better hockey player than Peddle if you base your evaluation purely on hockey sense and skill, but Peddle will go top 10 and Todd will go round 3. That's how it is. Teams draft projectable players, and size is a great factor in that. Green could probably step up in the Q at 16 and be okayish, because he has the physical assets to do so. Normandeau may never play.
