Kids Health and Growth Journal, boys do grow at different rates and times, they are not saying they don't but they do say 95% of boys growth starts the same time and rate of growth is the same. That is the info I passed along, you can always find some boys that grow out of the norm, grow more or not at all and I guess that they would fall into the 5%.Interesting stat. Don't know what is your source but one thing is wrong for sure: All kids don't start puberty at 11-12. Some starts at 13-14 years old and yes, they can gain from 2" to 4" inches between 15 and 17. We see that quite often. It's also common to see a kid with early puberty (11-12) reach 5'7" at 13 years old and end up at 5'9" or less at 17. Xavier Parent was already 5'6"-130 pounds at 13 and he's still pretty much the same height (5'7"). Every case is different so I would stay away from that kind of stats to predict the growth of a single individual.
