Dope. Go play a sport where you're one traumatic injury away from a life in a dark room and/or bankruptcy (in America) for a kinesiology degree from the nation's 401st ranked educational institution while they make millions off you. Thanks dad!Yes I would love for my kid to excel in sports and get a scholarship. Wish I had got one too
Well there you go. First paragraph still stands.
The guy was born on Long Island in Nassau County - no surprise he'd have an affinity for his hometown team. And he was a kid when MacKinnon entered the league - no surprise he'd be a fan of him.call me crazy but after reading the dude's twitter it seems he's a huge NY sports fan and a fan of McKinnon. Two more years and you can sign with either the Rangers/Islanders or the Avalanche must be weighing on his mind, I don't blame him; it would be on mine as well. I think by the end of next week you either sign him or trade him in a package. Those are your only two options because if he goes back for year 3 then his value becomes less.

For sure, I know guys who've gone for Wrestling and rowing, girls who've gone for soccer and got full rides at Ivy league schools. My Aunt got offered a full ride at Cornell for hockey and didn't go (family crisis at the time) and regrets it.My buddy got a full ride on a golf scholarship. Seemed to work out well for him.
Not everyone is getting rides on football/hockey.

Don’t think so but not worth arguing overI think its kind of an issue if Pinto and Sanderson view UND as a better place to develop than with the Sens. They would probably be correct in that assessment, which is a problem.
Please. If it was an issue then why did JBD just sign. Bunch of batherseasons in this thread right nowsadly, I think they’re right. The overripe approach will get old for a lot of prospects. Between playing in the AHL or NCAA (where you can earn an education at the same time) is more enticing than ‘earn your way to the top’ like Logan Brown.
who knows, this is the same management group that was towing a hard line with Colin white and asked him to first sign an ATO (which he did) only to sign him a few days later to an ELC. That was also very puzzling.
Garrioch just said the expectation is pinto will be signed. If he does go back it’s most likely because he wants to forego the AHL. There’s no reason to fret over this either wayI’m not 100% convinced clearly. This is unexpected, everyone figured he’d turn pro. This was the year to go back and try to win the championship. What else is there for him at the NCAA level? He was also a bit of an over-ager, so he’s outgrown the WJC this past year.
I hope you’re right but I’m skeptical. And I’m not convinced if this wasn’t another team that Pinto would choose the same path.
Just like last year with JBD right? Not a chanceYeah obviously. What they are saying is that Dorion, through his propaganda minister Garrioch, will try to spin it as if this was what the Sens wanted all along.
If Pinto can "forego the AHL" by returning to UND, what does that tell you?Garrioch just said the expectation is pinto will be signed. If he does go back it’s most likely because he wants to forego the AHL. There’s no reason to fret over this either way
It doesn’t tell you anything reallyIf Pinto can "forego the AHL" by returning to UND, what does that tell you?
Aren’t you a hoot. My kid will forge his own path and I will support him. It could be ballet if that’s what he wants. Hockey too.Dope. Go play a sport where you're one traumatic injury away from a life in a dark room and/or bankruptcy (in America) for a kinesiology degree from the nation's 401st ranked educational institution while they make millions off you. It doesn’t tell you anything other than he might not want to play for ahl salary in small town Ontario. That’s complete speculation, if he doesn’t sign.If Pinto can "forego the AHL" by returning to UND, what does that tell you?
Also that full ride isn’t some sacrifice the school makes. Especially the American ones. It’s literally peanuts to them. For sure, I know guys who've gone for Wrestling and rowing, girls who've gone for soccer and got full rides at Ivy league schools. My Aunt got offered a full ride at Cornell for hockey and didn't go (family crisis at the time) and regrets it.
Not all scholarships are created equal here. Guys who play Div I basketball or football are absolutely getting taken advantage of. I know plenty of guys and girls playing hockey get a good deal out of it but like I said, getting a kinesiology degree from UND isn't worth what they get out of their pro level Div I hockey. You can't play at that level and be guaranteed to get a great education.
Seriously. Their tuition fees are a massive scam to begin with. Also that full ride isn’t some sacrifice the school makes. Especially the American ones. It’s literally peanuts to them.
