I would not have gone with Eller and DOC.

But as good as Crosby has been all season in the faceoff circle, he's terrible at overtime faceoffs.

Possession is critical in OT. So I get trying to find something to win the faceoff and get immediate possession. Sullivan tried it with Carter, too.

The Pens just suck in OT. They can't get possession.

Then that's fine, but change once you get possession.

The most important game of the season in the midst of both crosby and malkin trying their best to turn back the clock the last weeks and neither start the OT. That has got to be the dumbest f***ing coaching decision I have ever seen. If im Crosby I have some choice f***ing words to say to sullivan. f***ing putrid coaching.

They won't miss the playoffs because they didn't get an overtime point against a good Leafs team on the road. There are countless other far worse missed points we'll be able to point to.

Thanks to the refs for not calling the trip against EK. Otherwise we would have failed on the PP and not scored the second goal at ES.
They could easily miss the POs by a point. There's been like 30 games where they could have gotten it and tonight is one of them.

One of the weirder games I’ve ever been to. It’s as dead in there as it seems on tv.

Amazing to have a game where all of our weaknesses - horrible powerplay, horrible OT play, Jeff Carter defensive zone faceoffs - come out to bite us in the ass, and we will not change or learn a thing from it.

lol... faceoffs... the Penguins lead the whole league in faceoffs and have been a mediocre trainwreck all year. If he's really making season-impacting decisions like that because Crosby is like half a percent lower in the circle or whatever then he's even more of a horse's ass than I figured.

I believe that's the intention...and the Pens didn't do it. I don't know if it was because they saw an immediate scoring opportunity or what, but the intention previously has been to get Sid on the ice ASAP.

its not like Sid is anything special 3 on3 or Geno for that matter, but DOC on 3 on 3 was criminal offense, Eller was absolutely awful,

I thought they played last 8-9 minutes after shiting the pants first 10 minutes in third...they came really really strong, last 3 minutes with 2:2 they pressed and skated, so thats it...

I hated POJ game tonight, he buckles so quickly under any pressure, and its all confidence..
I though EK 5 on 5 was really good..

L1 was a-okay...did oK
Geno is really good playing smart, what a difference having Bunt slowing down the game and allowing for possession.

Eller has been sucking this stretch, after being so good for so long..it does not help that he plays with two totally lost wingers (he should stick with Bemstrom on 3rd)
L4 is awful, Carter sucks, water is wet

Eller is a good player. He's just being FAR overplayed this season.

Jeff Carter I have no answer for. It's far beyond absurd at this point. At least with Eller you can KINDA see the temptation of your run-of-the-mill doorknob-brained NHL coach wanting to overuse him. Carter just blows and isn't even any good at the stuff they are shoving his hollowed out husk out there for.

Should have started Eller/Carter for OT. Man that would be hilarious, i'd know the guy was dropped on his head as a baby at that point.

Top two lines both being +1 and not allowing a goal. Outshooting the Leafs meaningfully in their barn, to tie it and push for the win late in the third.

0-5 on the PP. Allow a PP goal on two opportunities against. Lose another OT looking like you've never practiced it, and without getting your best players on the ice for even a second.

Insert funny pictures of Sully and the PP MasterMind here.

Our guys are still battling, and one point in this one is not bad even if two would have been heaps better and we likely deserved it. But it is still a tough road (if they get a result at Boston also I am a believer though).
Just.... cannot get over how much I loath our coaches and how insane it is that we are not comfortably in the playoffs we the material we have.
