And the postgame ACTUAL EX-PRO PLAYER just backed up what I said. You gdmf amateur losers who never competed at any level obviously don't get it. Piling on it now only hurts. If you actually want a team to win, you have to suck it up, pump up the player [because HE IS ALL YOU GOT] and ride with it.
He's not all that we got. We have Annunen that we have drafted and groomed for a number of years and that has been adequate this season. Let him play. The NHL is a meritocracy.

I'm actually not that upset about this game. I thought our team played very well except for Manson with some stupid plays and of course Georgiev. I much prefer a game like this where the boys show that they could have won and the goaltender clearly proves that he was not up to the task as opposed to a lower scoring game where Bednar might attribute our loss to a bad bounce or something. It was clear on at least 3 goals, if not 4 - that he's just completely lost it and we're going to need to play Annunen sooner rather than later.

Now it's up to Bednar to make the right call. The last time we faced bowness in the playoffs, we had to go through grubauer, Francouz and then Hutchinson. We don't need spectacular goaltending to win...we just need adequate goaltending.

I think Bednar wanted to give George a chance to get his head in the game and turn the page for the playoffs and I thought there was a chance he could but he's clearly not going to be able to do that.

Players make more in a season than the total amount of money many average people make in their life. I don't feel bad, either you perform or we move on.
Doesn't matter how much you make if you can't do something you can't. Period.

Now at this point it's his responsibility to ask for player assistance because he can't do his job anymore and the team clearly won't guide him that way.

Annunen is sick though. If he’s still sick in 2 days and can’t play, then what? I’d call up Prosvetov if he’s healthy, but don’t think Bednar will. Gotta suck it up and go back to Georgiev, then go to church and pray he doesn’t give up more than 4 goals

Brother, like I said earlier: save for cancer you have to start Annunen.

Casey Mittelstadt, outside of getting bodied behind the net for the 3rd Jets goal, looked really good. He looked like a guy who is ready to amplify his game in the playoffs like he did in the WJC with Team USA.
He settled in well after the first for a guy playing his first ever playoff game. Made some great passes and battled to get that weird goal

You can’t start a sick player who physically can’t play. Not only that, but if it’s flu, he can infect others
Once again, can anyone name the backup goalie that we were supposed to rely upon ? No, you can’t. Today is what it is.

The crazy thing is I’m more optimistic about the Avs chances now than I was this morning. I was worried about a 5-1 type of start.

Yep, same.

Especially since MacKinnon and Rantanen are capable of more, especially Mikko, his play was really sub-standard.

And if the Jets are hoping Val and Lehkonen stop driving, that’s not really what they do, especially come playoff time.

There should still be plenty of clenching going on regardless of who’s in net, but there’s room for optimism.

Saying the GM has left George with no backup support is just plain weird. We have Juice and we have Provy. The former is sick and the latter was playing his first game back tonight for the Eagles after being sick himself. What is management supposed to do? Both those guys have done well this year. Let's give them a chance before saying we have no backup goalie. If Juice is still sick on Tuesday then give the net to Provy. We absolutely cannot go back to George. The guy gave up 3 goals on 8 shots in the 1st period and 3 goals on 6 shots in the 3rd. The guys have no confidence in him whatsoever. I don't care how many goals Juice and/or Provy let in. Stick with them from now on.

With that said I doubt Juice will be ready Tuesday. He played 3 days ago and he was fine. That means he just got sick in the last couple of days so he probably still needs 3-4 days to recover.

That's what I mean ... you can't do Prosvetov lol. Annunen is sick. You just have to wait.

My brother in christ, Fourgiev literally cost us that game. One of, if not the, worst playoff performance in the modern era. Why wouldn't you try literally anyone else?
The backup’s backup in the AHL
seems like a rational choice
