I've been trying to view some .wmv files with Windows Media Player and I keep getting an error message (C00D10D1). Then I get directed to the wmplugins.com website to download the missing codec, and afterwards when I try to view the .wmv file I run into the exact same problem. What can I do?

Here's exactly what happens...
The lower bar reads "connecting to media"..."buffering"...(something about codecs that flashes really quickly)..."error downloading codec".
Then a pop up appears which says "A codec is required to play this file. To determine if this codec is available to download from the Web, click Web Help."
I click the Web Help link and I get a message that the error C00D10D1 has occured and there is a link to the WMPlugins.com website. That leads me to a download for "Windows Media Video 7" which I download.
Then I try the process again and the same thing happens. :dunno:

Is this just one .wmv file, or all .wmv's from one place, or all .wmv's full stop?

I figured it out. I was downloading the new codecs when I needed to reinstall the old ones. Thanks though.
