If you're going to keep ovie, you have to jettison oshie/carlson/patches/dowd. Replace them with speedy players, don't care if they don't have any skill, but if we can't even get the puck into the zone, we have no chance.

Ovechkin played four terrible games. Unbelievably bad.
That's because he's ready for retirement & he should! I have never seen anyone just skate around the ice & not look like they gave 2 shits whatsoever! Atleast he use to try to be physical when he wasn't scoring! Now he just skates right past people & avoids them at all costs.

Hopefully, we don't see Patches ever again. He was just terrible and killed a lot of plays though the regular season and this first round. I won't even call it a playoff because it certainly didn't feel like it.

Ovechkin had to be hurt right?

Like we’ve never seen him play that bad in a playoff series ever that I can remember. Even the few series in the past where he didn’t get on the scoresheet he at least would show some fight.

And he was on a heater as they snuck into the playoffs. He needs to take his training this offseason seriously.

It cannot be overstated how absolutely awful OV and Pacioretti were. Pacioretti will be gone (another head scratching WTF move by BM among many) but OV will be a major anchor until he retires. That goal record needs to come as quickly as possible so he retires and the team stops designing everything (including the PP) around him.

I think he just wants this record thing to be over honestly. Every time he looks there is media asking about other records.

the Rangers were better at every aspect, we would have been lucky to steal one or 2 games. Came out a bit more flat than we hoped, fun season though

He doesn’t, clearly. Nor does he evolve his game like a lot of the greats did as they got older.

And now we get to hear from the "anti-tankers" on how this season was an "undeniable success".
Keep drinking the Kool-Aid.

You can't have him playing the left point anymore. He's just not mobile enough anymore to play it.
