Porter, Troy (4) has been better than Driedger (8) in the playoffs so far, so the Admirals have an advantage in that area. Driedger lost one game and is giving up 2.4 GAA vs Troy's 2.0 and one loss. Yesterday, Troy played the best game that I ever saw from him. He is on a hot streak.

McCormick and Shore (25, 27) are the only CV players in the top 30 in playoff scoring.

The Admirals have 4 players in the top 30 in playoff scoring (1 ,5, 11 and 12), so they seem to have an advantage.
It's not really about the small sample stats of these playoffs so far. It's who the players actually are in a larger view.

Well, CV has a lot of players who have become invisible, since I had to look at the top 40 scorers to find any of their guys.

The regular season is over. It is what you can do NOW that counts.

Since you are stuck on the regular season, I will give some more stats. CV has 9 other teams in their division, including Colorado, who finished 4th with 87 points and Henderson, who came in 8th with 64 points, and 9th place San Diego with 63 points.

The Admirals played those teams, going 2-2 against the Eagles, 4-0 vs the Silver Knights and 2-2 vs the Gulls, making 8 wins and 4 losses against that division.

The Admirals finished at 0.674 for the season and beat the Pacific Division teams that they played at 0.666 over 12 games. There is nothing special about CV or their division. CV had 3 weak sisters in their division and the Admirals had 2.

The Ads had 47 wins to CV's 46. CV had 11 loser points to Milwaukee's 3. That is why they had 6 more points than the Ads.
CV scored 14 more goals and gave up 11 less than Milwaukee over 72 games, about 0.2 goals per game.

Looks like Ozzy is enjoying a rebirth with the Admirals. Any interest in a trade with him and Thomas Bordeleau (Sebastien's son) for Fabbro? Sharks need some real dmen on the right side.

I'd rather just keep Fabbro tbh, if that's the return. Although, I've got no clue on what his value even really is.

Nashville already has so many RWs trying to break into or stay the NHL (Tomasino, Evangelista, Kemell and then Fink/Wood in the NCAA). I reckon maybe if we clear some of the RW coffers in a trade for Marner/Necas/etc but as of right now if we trade Fabbro I'd rather it be for picks/d prospects.

They seem to like Ozzy in Milwaukee, but not sure that makes him any kind of NHL prospect, nor does Bordeleau seem likely to fit the identity/style that Trotz and co. are shooting for? They may pick up those players in minor league deals at some point, or sign them for the Ads if San Jose lets them go after next season? I don't know about trading an actual NHL player for them, even considering how little they seem to value Fabbro. :dunno:

We've played 10 playoff games and they've only played 7.
Take the Admirals' stats and divide by 10. One guy played 9 games (Parssinen).

Take the Firebird's stats and divide by 7.

My guess is that L'Heureux and Egor will still be ahead of the CV skaters.

These goalie stats are per game. Troy 2.0 GAA and Dreidger 2.4 GAA.

Troy has 6 games played, but he played about 3 minutes in Game 4, so it is really 5 games. Driedger has 7 games played, including about 6.5 minutes of OT. That accounts for Driedger playing 127 minutes more. (Maybe Driedger will be tired?)

Ozzy was a first round pick for the Sharks.

The Sharks fired their coach.

Karl Taylor could be hired by the Sharks and coach Ozzy in the NHL.

Don't be surprised if it happens!

Will be interesting to see what happens with CV’s coaching staff since Bylsma was named Seattles HC.
It is okay to call them the Kracklin. I do.

The Firebirds started Driedger, as expected.

The Admirals start Troy Grosenick in goal. The Dmen are Gravel and McKeown. The forwards are O'Reilly centering Kemell and Egor Afanasyev. The Ads are playing 11-7 as they did for about half of the season.

Cody Beach is one of the refs!!! How? Why?
Riley Brace (#49) is the other ref.

Foudy is in the lineup. He is playing with L'Heureux and ?

O'Reilly is on the PP with Kemell and Ozzy.

Ads called for their third penalty. CV scores with 5 minutes remaining in period 1

O'Reilly on with Kemell and Egor again.

Weatherby centers Foudy and Wiesblatt.
Weatherby and Studenic go to the box for Roughing with 42 seconds left. SOG are 12-12. Firebirds 1-0. Ads 4-2 in penalties.

Period 2 had the Ads jumping out in SOG, and the Firebirds closing the gap to Ads 12-10. The Ads had 2 penalties and CV had just one at the end of the period. Egor did hit a post. Still 1-0 Firebirds. Ads 6-3 in penalties. The refs missed a call or 2 on CV. Aaron Sims said PU, meaning the refs stunk!

Period 3 began with a PP, which became another 5-on-3 where the Ads did not score.
L'Heureux scores his 9th goal after a pass from Schaefer (1) with 14:40 to go! Parssinen belatedly also got an assist, his 8th. Ads leading in SOG, 5-4.

At 8:49, the same guy from CV (Hayden) scored again to make it 2-1. Ufko gets run over and no call by the refs!

SOG 33-27 Ads, 7 minutes remaining. Ads called for Tripping when they were tripped. L'Heureux gets 10 minutes on top of the minor. $20 that was Beach! Taylor talking to ref Riley Brace. L'Heureux was also given a Gamer by Beach according to Aaron Simms.

Beach should no long be a ref in the AHL!
He got into a shouting match with GR HC Dan Watson after Game 5. Aaron Simms said it was "a bad look" meaning for Beach.

Troy pulled at 1:27. SOG 38-30 Ads. Face off to the glove side of Chris Driedger. O'Reilly wins the face off. One minute remains. Icing against CV with 46 seconds. O'Reilly, Svechkov and Kemell with Ufko and Gross. The third icing in a row! Kemell tripped and no call, then Weisblatt is Hooked with 5 seconds remaining for a minor. The puck rolled over Ufko's stick and the game is over.

CV wins Game 1 by a 2-1 score.

The Ads have lost all three Game 1s in these playoffs.

Game 2 is Friday at 9 PM CDT.

Game 2 at Palm Desert, CA. The Ads are 3-1 in the playoffs after a loss, but have never won at CV in four tries.

It will be Troy vs Chris Driedger in net again.

Beau Halkidis (#48) is one of the refs, meaning that Cody Beach is not. Jordan Samuels-Thomas (#42) is the other ref.

The Ads going with 11-7 again. Statsney and Wilsby. Schaefer, Parsinnen and L'Heureux. After icing, CV scores at 28 seconds. Not the start that I wanted.

At 8:36, the Ads go on the PP. They have gone 0 of 16 recently. Ads don't score on a goal mouth scramble. They had 2 chances to score on the same PP. SOG are 10-7 Ads.
The Ads are 0 for 17 now.

CV scores a PPG and a CV player was in the crease. Troy was very upset. It is called a good goal. 2-0 CV. Penalties are called on both teams. Schaefer (Xchecking) and Henman (Slashing) with 4:46 remaining. Troy is still talking to one of the refs. It will be 4-on-4 for 2 minutes. The penalties have expired. Now 2:08 remaining, SOG 13-10 Ads favor. Ads ice the puck at 1:24. After one period, it is 2-0 CV. SOG 14-10 Ads.

Period 2 begins. CV is playing with 6 skaters and no call. Ads with zero SOG in the first 4 minutes. Tomasino fanned on a shot from the slot. Parsinnen missed a scoring chance.

Ozzy (2) scores over Dreidger's shoulder to make it 2-1 with 14:32 remaining. Svechkov (4) and Ufko (6) with the assists. One goal on one shot this period.

Troy stopped a breakaway. A little over 7 minutes remaining in the period. SOG 8-5 CV. The Firebirds score with 4 minutes left to make it 3-1. SOG 15-7 CV. Schaefer gets a penalty at 19:07, the first in the period.
Ads on the PK with O'Reilly, ?, McKeown and Gravel. SOG 16-8 CV. CV leads 3-1.

Period 3 began with a lot of skating around. CV was called for Tripping about 9 minutes into the period. The Ads went 0 for 18 on the PP.

The Ads took their TO with 2:01 left. It was 4-on-4. Troy went off to make it 5-on-4. The Ads were close, but did not score. That seemed to the theme tonight, a partially open net, but they can't push the puck across the line. SOG 10-8 Admirals and 34-32 CV.

It is 2 games to zero. The Ads play at home at 7 PM on Tuesday and Thursday. Game 5 could be at 6 PM on Saturday.

Karl Taylor needs to figure out something for the offense in all 3 periods. Tomasino and Ufko were playing hard, but Milwaukee needs more results. Egor needs to score. The Admirals need to cut down on the penalties, even though it was 5-4 tonight. Their PP is not helping and the PK can only do so much, 1 of 4 tonight in a 3-1 loss.
