f*** the goalie, if that’s any other player he is getting a beat down.
It’s the equivalent of crushing a player from behind into the boards, knocking him out cold and giving him a concussion. They should have jumped him and beat the shit out him, or started giving him shots/cross checks until his teammates came in and make them pay for it, starting with Dahlin.

Hell baby
Piece of shit hit, hopefully Drake heals up well and comes out playing his usual brand of strong hockey

Gotta run their goalie next time, even if it isn’t Dell

Tkachuk has stepped up for his teammates plenty of times, it's a different situation with a goalie, you can't just tell him it's time to go and drop the gloves. Besides, guys like Watson and Brown are the ones we ostensibly dress to deal with dirty crap.

Two fails if Watson and Brown are supposed to deal with it.

The teams identity and the way we have drafted players is meant to be big tough intimidating hockey.
I expect a response next game by the players, not a dirty response but a talk before the game and everyone goes out there, finishes their checks hard and drops the mitts if need be. Playing with a mean streak otherwise other teams are free to push us around without any consequences

If this had happened to McDavid or Matthews, many in the league would be calling for Dell to be kicked out of the league.
Tim Micaleff side kick was laughing about it today. Rubbed me the wrong way, didnt even mention the sens win either. But thats Sportsnet. Very petty.

If it had happened to a Leaf, all of the talking heads and columnists would be discussing the “league wide problem” of goalies using their immunity to cause injuries.
Bingo.

Sportsnet is a disgrace. 3rd tier sports network that worships the Leafs for viewership.

Not surprising whatsoever.

Or, at a minimum, if Dahlin wants to drive our guys into the boards, then return the favor - maybe even trying goading him into a fight (no idea if that would work or ever happen LOL).

Les joueurs d'Ottawa l'on essayé durant le match. Dahlin a réussi a en éviter quelques uns. Dahlin devra garder la tête haute.

Never mind - already posted above.

How does a suspension work for a goalie who sits games anyhow? That would ostensibly be more meaningless if it was a backup goalie ......

3 game suspension for Dell is silly. He probably only plays 1 of those games anyway. Should have been 6...due to his position.

They had like two periods to do something, and honestly, someone should have just beat the shit out of Dell right after it happened.

This was a major fail on Drake's teammates' part.
Players dont beat up goalies. Retribution sure but after another star. Tkachuk pounding Dahlin would have been terrific.

No man it really isn’t. The outcome of the hit was an awkward landing, nothing at all like being crushed from behind into the boards where the expected result is a crushing blow.

It was a cheap hit, but he hardly needs to be run out of the league, or beaten to a pulp. Chabot was run awkwardly into the rounded turnbuckle in a cheap last minute shove as well.

These plays happen and penalties are assessed, and in this case a suspension, but let’s not go overboard here. I remember Watching Grieg cross check Dubois in the face in pre season and getting two games, waaaay worse of an aggressive act, and yet he wasn’t destroyed on the ice and banned from the league either, and Sens fans love the guy.

It still costs buffalo a contract slot, and they are currently like 5 or 6 deep on goalies right now already. But that's more of a Sabres management problem

Ya, I get that, but it doesn't seem like much of a penalty for a backup goalie, or quasi backup goalie and the team. jmho.
