So far I have two issues:

1. I’m having a hard time getting past the level 1 missions where there’s only a single objective. I’ve done like 10 of these missions. Is there a way to advance that I’m missing?

2. The monetization does seem to be more aggressive than I initially thought. I’m trying to decide between spending the little premium currency I’ve scrounged up in game for some armor that buffs my accuracy or saving it for unlocking the other warbond. I’m leaning towards the latter. Although it might take me another 8-10 hours of gameplay to get it.

Apparently the player base is pretty much 50/50 between PC and PS5 when it comes to active users, so that would mean about 300k active users and it has about a million in sales (and is exceeding expectations). Pretty strong launch for Arrowhead/Sony.

I just realized there’s a key to press in the mission select to increase the level of the missions. Well, 2 hours of doing level 1 missions is enough I guess, lol.

Im amazed at how many hours people are capable if logging in. Some dude I played with on FRIDAY night already had 25 hrs logged in. It was fun playing with him. He was a level 17. 24 hours later, and he and his mates are level 24, and I was completely lost playing with them as Ive only play about 5 hours total. One of his crew members was starting to be a dick, so I just dipped.

The game is really fun, though, and it seems to be gaining momentum. Im excited for what the future holds!

Developers said theyre doing maintenance today. Not sure about last night. It's frustrating, but I keep reminding myself Im still having a blast playing the game even with the lack of quick play + the game is likely only going to get better and better over the next few years.

I dont think Ive played a game that makes me belly laugh like this one, though. I was trying to figure out how to drop a resupply bag (with the rockets in it). We were on an extreme level. The dude is trying to talk me through it since we had a quick break in action, then, as Im trying to figure it out- a charger comes out of no where catching us completely off guard, and beats the hell out of us. Of man, did the group get a big laugh from that one. Im assuming our teammates watched the comedy unfold b/c they were right on que with their laughs.

I just realized the preorder bonus armors perk (cavalier of democracy) is equivalent to the
most expensive armor in the games perk (champion of the people), priced at 100 medals.

I actually dont even think the perk is that good but something I noticed.

This game has been a lesson to me in the importance of art direction.

Objectively, the activities in Helldivers 2 are no less interesting or repetitive than the activities in Destiny. But the enemy designs are so damn generic and boring, I get tired of running HD2 content much faster.

You know I’ve tried to play destiny 2 so many times, and I just don’t know what to do. I delete the 10 games I need to make room for the 150gb download, then I get into the hub area, scramble around for where I can drop into a mission, then I drop in, then I look around the play area and don’t find anything, quit out and uninstall. I’ve done this at least 5-6 times throughout the years.

As for helldivers 2, imo progression for weapons and armor is way too slow, but progression for stratagems which is most important is perfect.

One thing I’ll say, they really need to get rid of the saving stranded citizens mission it’s so bad. Just because it was in the first game doesn’t mean it needs to be in the second. At the very least overhaul it.

As for the enemies being the same, I could see that complaint, but the higher difficulties really are a different game.

Yeah. Destiny never did it for me. I'd just get bored after 30 mins. Division went the same route for me, but I lasted a bit longer. Still, I never binged either game.

Helldivers, on the other hand, has me addicted. I binged it on my day off today. I havent played a game that much in years. Maybe I just enjoy being a grunt. The only thing that was able to pull mr away was my family coming home. Adulting just has too many responsibilities, or else I may have played for 8 hours straight, haha.

This game is soooo much fun. Played on PC, it crashed once but then ran smooth all night. Easily the best game I have played in years.
This game is so, so good. Has that "one more run" quality to it
Yeah. It's great. Probably the most Ive played a game in the past decade. The team work is always on point even in quick play. Also 'one more run' hits the nail on the head. It's so addictive.

And it's gaining crazy momentum. Last night, on a Tuesday, 200,000 people were online, and that's only PC users (I believe). With PS5 added in, we're looking at around 400,000 people online. The weekend is going to be insane. Hopefully, they have the servers ready to go!

Yeah this weekend is going to be nuts haha. Everyone I know that games is talking about this game, and rightfully so. It's a f***ing blast!
I had trouble with the quick play yesterday. A whole lot of failed connections. This weekend is going to be a shit show. And yeah, I've talked to a few coworkers about the game, and theyre either pissed it isn't being released on Xbox or likely to buy the game. The $40 price tag is nice.

Also, the Automatons have launched an offensive on a bunch of planets.

Load up, boys! The Automatons are no joke. For Democracy!

I’m really trying to figure out what the point of the AR-23p I think it’s called. That early game marksman class rifle. Like what is the use case? It doesn’t do damage, it’s got a horrible fire rate, incredibly small magazine size. It’s worse than the starting gun. The two shotguns on the other hand are fantastic.

It's pretty trash against the bugs, but there MAY be potential against the Automatons if you're deadly accurate with the rifle. There are weak spots on the Automatons that you can pick off from far away. The bugs are just too fast, and the shotguns destroy up close (obviously) + the second one is actually really good far afar, too. They'll probably have to nerf it a bit.

But yeah, the rifle is one of the worst guns in the game it seems. The automatic shotgun is where it's at. It's my go to weapon.

Yeah. There's definitely some comedic value there. Also, the battles to stop the Automatons from advancing are pretty damn hard, especially the escort missions. Apparently, there will be maps of cities in the future + vehicles being added, so I think there's going to be some pretty crazy advances by both enemies.

I think there is a glitch in those escort missions with how many automatons are being dropped at once. I think they are trying to patch it right now (as well as the server issues they're having)

I am gonna try to get on this weekend because i've got work travel next week. Hit me up on Steam - hehatemefrisbee

Tbh I don’t think it would hurt Sony to have an Xbox version it could only help, gamepass on the other hand could hurt sales but Xbox would only help if you are actually serious about the live service pivot

There's a reddit thread about it now. Basically does the math that says they are cramming 40 mins of bots into a 15 minute window, which is why you are seeing soooo many drop ships at once. It's basically impossible without 4 people who are prepared to die multiple times and probably only have 1 or 2 get out.
