Would life not be easier if, we Westerners and our over indulged, me, me, me attitudes, learned to be more conscious of the world around us. More sensitive to our place on this planet. To our time line, to our role in it???

Would life not be easier if, we did not take our car from our front door to our back.. That we did not buy insanely large SUVs. One's you can live in. And teh best part. A diminutive female will jump out.. One who pays thousands on gym membership. on every chemical in teh book. every crazy treatment in the book. but will not walk 1 or 2 km t a grocery store... heaven forbid.

Would life not be easier if, we learned to; reuse, recycle, reduce!!! would we care about EV, combustion based propulsion or any other mean.. Would we care if, we lived with the same practicality. The same pragmatism. The same intelligence as those that lived in decades past?

We pay thousands for gym membership, yet complain if teh community mailbox is 100 M away and we have to walk. My street has 2.. 2 to cover 1 Km of streets. 300 M apart. And people bitch.

but, we would need a brain in our head. Luckily for big oil, big electricity, big everything, we don't.

I posted numerous articles debunking the misinformation you've decided to spread, along with pointing out you chose to post a well known purveyor of falsehoods. When you post crap from known liars, expect to get called out for it.

The problem is you seem to have fallen for the alternative facts trap, when the scientific community agrees and something that doesn't align with what's convenient to you, you just go out and find a shyster outfit like Prager U to try and make an argument and call it facts.

Might as well quote Scientology, their about as credible as the bunk you are latching on to.

You’ve fallen into the WEF, progressive globalist climate alarmist facts trap….
And anything not aligned with their narrative is “misinformation“ and the information from independent sources is always discredited, and said to be “debunked” by those peddling the agenda you’ve bought…. Just like a number of so called (at the time) “ conspiracy theories “ are treated, and when they turn out to be true, the side you seem to be aligned with rarely correct the record, or even come close to admitting they were wrong.

When it comes to disseminating the “News”…. Those who control the message, control the “truth”… and in decades past the mainstream legacy media controlled the narrative, and whomever owned and financed the mainstream legacy media steered the narrative……. But a couple of decades ago, along came the internet, giving alternative sources of information, opinions and points of view that weren’t controlled by the powers behind the mainstream legacy media….and they did not welcome alternative points of view and opinion, as it challenged their grip on their narrative and their spin on the “truth” so of course they fought back and labelled their competition as “right wing extremism“ or “misinformation“ and more…. In an attempt to maintain their control of the narrative.

so it’s not surprising that those who’ve swallowed the WEF progressive mainstream media narrative, to treat alternative sources of news and ideas in the way you have.

PragerU is a conservative platform that was founded by conservative talk show host Dennis Prager and Allen Estrin in 2009…it is a nonprofit focused on a free alternative to the dominant left-wing ideology in culture, media, and education.

In the USA, conservative talk radio dominates the airwaves, and has a much bigger following that progressive liberal radio hosts. There has always been a legitimate second opinion to the progressive ideology that the mainstream media presents as the “truth”….. one only has to look at the cable news ratings to see who garners the lions share of the audience…. So on the battlefield of ideas, conservative outlets win their fair share of the battles vs the progressive narrative.

They are labeled debunked because people do the work to look into the research and facts, and show how the original claims were misleading or deceitful. That's how it's supposed to work. Imagine trying to defend fox as accurate based on popularity while ignoring everything that came out in the many lawsuits they've lost or settled, the marvel movies were really popular too, doesn't make the an accurate portrayal of reality.

Fox has admitted in court that their biggest program at the time wasn't to be taken seriously, stating that the "'general tenor' of the show should then inform a viewer that [Carlson] is not 'stating actual facts' about the topics he discusses and is instead engaging in 'exaggeration' and 'non-literal commentary.'

The Dominion lawsuit exposed fox with evidence of even they did not believe what they were saying on the air but instead were putting out what would bring in the ratings rather that reporting fact. it cost the over 700 mil to settle, and they've still got the smatmatic case to worry about.

Where people get their news tends to be demographically linked, not that popularity has any causal link whether is reliably factual or not, but NYTimes and CNN.com both dwarf Foxnews.com in visits, which comes in third next to MSNBC.com.

But sure, keep defending Prager U as a reliable source of information... It's all just a conspiracy to discredit them based on their political views, not a long history of them being discredited for false and misleading claims.

Progressive fact checkers debunking conservative news outlets…. No bias there.

I could list numerous examples, but will point out your beloved NYT, MSNBC and CNN who, for two years peddled the Russian Trump campaign coalition hoax as the “truth” …. Until it wasn’t…… And these same news outlets ran with the “All the earmarks of a Russian disinformation campaign” in regards to the Hunter Biden Laptop story broken by the NY Post, and others, before the 2020 election in the USA….. and when it was revealed two years later that the NY Post story on the laptop was 100% accurate and the FBI had the laptop in it’s possession since Dec 2019 and also knew it was 100% Hunters, but suppressed it for as long as they could, before it became public knowledge a month before the 2020 election…..

I’m not here advocating that either the Progressive Media outlets or the Conservative outlets have a claim on the truth, they both spin the news towards their ideological side….. it’s up to individuals to listen to both sides of an argument, before making up your mind on where the facts land.

I don’t know if you find what CNN does not cover, or what FNC does not cover, as revealing…… but when CNN begins to cover an issue that FNC had been covering for month before, or vice versa…. I find that revealing.

There are many examples, but the influx of illegals crossing the southern US border is a story that only FNC was covering on a regular daily basis for the past couple of years, where CNN just recently began to cover it more seriously as they could not dismiss it any more. The yearly average number of Border patrol encounters (with illegals) during the previous administration was approximately 300k (per year)…. Since Jan of 2021, when the current administration rescinded or abolished about 89 directives or regulations put in place by the previous administration…. the number of encounters with border patrol sky rocketed to an average of about 285K per month…. in fact in the past 35 consecutive months the number of encounters have increased…Dec.of last year saw 302k encounters……. Suddenly the Progressive mainstream media have discovered this issue that had been covered by their competitors for years.…..

This is funny, because you've shown an example of CNN getting debunked, and accepted it. But when evidence is shown of any of your darlings getting debunked, it's fact checker bias. You inexplicably think I love NYT, CNN or MSNBC, I have no particular love for them, if they are shown to be misrepresenting facts I am more than will to adjust my position, all the while you wear your tribalism on your sleeve, showing it's not the facts you follow but the alignment with your 'team'. I care about facts, which is why when a claim is made, I look into what experts in the field day about something, I look into the credibility of the people making the claims and the reputation they have, what I don't do is check their policitical leanings.

I can look at a subj, EVs or renewable energy, for example, and acknowledge where work still needs to be done, and where they bring substantial benefits. I don't have a side in the debate, if an alternative comes about that solves the current issues we need to address, I'm happy to explore those options.

Have a great day defending Prager U though, and playing the victim card any time they get debunked or shown to be misleading.

Do you commute to work?
My situation is different. Home office.

I cycle to do all my errands, or I walk. It was -12C this morning, -20 with the wind chill. I garbed up and walked.. 2.9 KM from my home to food basics. It was wonderful, the sun warmed me such that I walked back without my hat on..in fact, I worked up a heck of a sweat.

I cycle everywhere. I walk places. I do not waste, I do not use chemicals. I use baking soda to clean, even though I am a germaphobe. I do laundry in cold water and with the tip of a spoon of soap. I recycle, I make my own compost to plant.

I mend socks, I mend tears, I keep the temp in my home cool in winter and garb up. I allow it to heat in summer and endure some discomfort.

My car is a 125 hp, Nissan Juke that gets me anywhere I need, without needing a fuel truck. It does sit in my drive way for the most part.

when my appliances break, I fix them. When an article of clothing is stylistically passé, I wear it around the house.

I put out garbage once a month because I eat well and do not generate much garbage. food is from basic ingredients that are compostable. Uber eats is Uber dumb.

When I worked outside my home, it was 10 km away. Half the time, I cycled there.

This is called a small carbon footprint.

My dick size means I don't need a sports car. My self confidence is well enough, I don't need to impress. I am happy enough that I do not need to substitute trinkets and toys for human contact. I am at ease with myself, I can sit and read, and do not need to be out and about feeling a need for security in public outing.

Enough of the sermon..

I doubt it. Battery technology is driving pretty much everything these days, everybody is trying to improve it for your laptop, your phone, and your cars, as it gets lighter and more energy dense, it will only make EVs more and more viable.

Beyond that, motors are lighter, smaller and provide instant torque, they provide unique design possibilities that will continue to push the limits.

Beyond that, even currently EVs are less expensive when looking at the full lifecycle, with lower cost to run and maintain. Typically you break even after 5 to 6 years, after which your saving money even factoring in the upfront costs and difference in depreciation.
Batteries are old tech. I’m waiting for the really cool science to arrive.

I mean, same, I always have to take the garbage out bc it smells long before it's actually full. I need to get one of those hose attachments for the toilet because I feel like toilet paper is my main source of waste. Never owned a car. Of course I live in a walkable European city, but that's also a choice.

But I mean, it doesn't even really feel like conscious choices to me, just common sense tbh. Waste not want not

I never enter this thread but thought I'd pop in.

The right and the left arguing over whose facts are correct and whose are misrepresented.

I think I'll step back out. Focus on the hockey aspect of HF

So if you bring any Nissan under warranty to get custom performance work there, it will be covered under warranty?
I thought it was Nismo. Depends on what you want to change, but fuel computers and chips are the voiding type mods

Your dick size means you don’t need a sports car, but you sure whip it out and stroke it about your carbon footprint. Makes you sound the opposite of being at ease with yourself.

And your lifestyle has made a tremendous impact on the environment so thank you for that

If anyone wants a fun way to get fitness in during the winter but doesn't like being outside, try rock climbing/bouldering. I went today after ages and feel like a million dollars.

I used to go to Coyote Rock Gym win Ottawa, very fun stuff (options for harness in case you don't want to do free hand stuff).

So almost any mods that increases power?

I thought it was Nismo too. Turns out they only currently do mods for the GTR in our market. (And a few hatches in other markets)

Sorry to say but my gf didn't get a GTR lol. She got the new 1.5T rogue. It doesn't deliver quite as much HP as the 1.5T corolla for a example, but I was wondering if I could bridge the gap a little bit lmao.

A computer chip is the easiest way to do it, but your warranty if void. Exhaust on a turbo car helps free up power without causing any warranty issues, as well as high performance air filter.
