I was hoping to face Vegas. I think best to catch them early than later plus I like the revenge factor. LA is such a boring grind. They hang around, hang around, then pop one on you. With an emerging Byfield, they’ll be tougher than last year and if Dubois decides he wants to play, they’ll be a huge challenge. Talbot is streaky, but when he’s on, he’s on. Lots of potential for injury in their brand of horseshit and douchebaggery.

LA will try to take advantage of our tendency to start slow. They will jack up the first few shifts and try for the early lead, then put their patient suffocation to work.

We know LA refuses to abandon the 1-3-1 regardless of the score, so as long as we score the first two or three, we’re golden. I’m not as anxious this year about facing LA as I was the last two years. The main reason being, Talbot isn’t a high-pressure goalie. I don’t think he’s as good as Korpisalo and certainly not as good as Quick when it matters.

I’m self-admittedly not the biggest Skinner fan but in this series, I’d much rather have him than Talbot.
