Honestly I think we completely outplayed them for 80% of the game. Shots were 34-24. We had so many chances to get more goals and just did not get the break that of course they got on their second goal. Frustrating, but maybe not as easy as everyone thinks its gonna be.

Yeah, I just don’t see them scoring enough to win 4, let alone 2. Sigh.

Lou has got to augment the talent, especially given Roy’s preference for an uptempo style.

This is a tough one - Isles were definitely the better team, but if you don't bury your golden chances, you won't go very far. Palmieri has to bury that; same as Dobson. Good news is, Isles can hang with this team, and even control the play. Bad new is, they still cant score enough

Some good things here, but pretty much exactly as expected.

Unfortuantely, Andersen was really good today.

But if our best players don't produce, then this will be a short, short series.

For my taste, too many flubbed pucks by our skill players. And having MacLean (3rd) and Holmstrom (4th) centering these makeshift lines is no solution for more than a game.

Islanders played well but we have seen this before against the Canes with poor finishing in the playoffs. Palms and Dobson gotta bury this chances in the third period

Good effort but that means sh!t.

More than anything, the defense worries me the most as we progress in this series. Pelech and Pulock have regressed and Dobson seems off. We miss the playoff version of Mayfield. Reilly has been a solid addition and Romo continues to impress.

Net-net the defense is worse and the Isles are a team that lives and dies on their defense.

Flip side of the coin is: Carolina played a pretty bad game by their standards and still won without too much effort

No one but the ref thinks that was a penalty.

I mean, yeah it was a weak call. But he didn't need to take his hand off his stick and put his arm into the defender either. He could''ve made a more practical decision to not go for the scoring chance and to just use his body to protect the puck going into the corner.

If JG is fit I'd consider keeping Holmstrom in ahead of Martin. The latter is a non factor

Relatively speaking even game but we had 2 horrible fake calls that actually should have ended on PPs for us. Dobson looks off and Barzal and Horvat brought nothing

If the rev calls that offsetting hold and embellishment (he did), then the Palms call doesn’t happen bc the player doesn’t embellish.
