You can debate Big Z's on-ice play all you want. Like any NHL d-man, it's going to be up and down.

But what is unquestionable, is his 'leadership qualities'. He's a natural leader on the ice and in the dressing-room. And as we all know, those kind of qualities are hard to find. And once you do find them--you have to pay up.

Toronto is who you're worried about?

I'm worried about Shitcago, San Jose or Anaheim deciding to overpay for him to be that tough d-man on the back end to protect their kids.
Utah, they have no dmen signed for next year. This is one reason I champion trading Hronek to them.
This off season could be devastating for the Canucks, could be.

I have no issues with giving Zadorov term, clauses and money.

I think he hasn't scratched his full capabilities yet he has always been buried in very good and established defensive corps before.
He was the fastest skater on Calgary.
Certainly has a presence on the ice other than just the physical impacts he shows poise. Even Hughes looks rattled.

I think I have posted 6 to 7 mil for 7/8 years, without breaking a sweat.

There might be some kick back from his agent on the way Kuzmenko was treated. That is always there, if the agent sours on a team and has high value assets he could find another trade buddy he does favour. Kuz at 5 mil was a bargain and then he got railroaded off the team.

Zadorov was a 4/5 guy as per most of the tv talking heads that i heard mention it when he was traded. Players improve...
he's playing like a solid No.3 guy. If we sign him to 5M will he revert back to a No.5 guy or at least be a solid second pairing No.4 guy.... bit of a risk but i'd take it

They can re-sign him if he wants to stay.
He will have a lot of suitors.
All they have to do is re-task the money they spend on defence already.
Myers isn't getting 6 million again.
Cole might be a one year and done but not 3 mil again.
Hronek is the best trade chip the team might have short of Pettersson, so his 4.7 mil could be available.

Every game of every round increases his trade value and contract expectations as well.

I have been posting 6 to 7 mil for 7 years and there were quite a few posters naysaying those numbers. But there are players that just excel in the real season. He is one, poise, nastiness and willing to impose his will.

Him and Joshua are must signs. Zadorov has played nothing short of a top 4 defenseman since we acquired him.

Hughes-Hronek
Zadorov-Tanev
Soucy-Juulsen

Really love the play, enthusiasm and fit with this team. Seems like the team plays a bit taller when hes on the ice.

I suspect Dillon would also do the same. Would like to keep Z and add Dillon.

The coaching staff have done a great job w Z and hes def playing a 2nd pairing game right now which is huge for us.

Hughes - ?
Soucy -Z
Dillon - Tanev

Would be wonderful

I found it interesting that we saw him paired with Hughes a bit last night.
