Yes. Historically it has been more difficult for hockey players to maintain previous quality of play after hip injuries/procedures than almost any other injury.

Not denying it. I just remembered Silf had hip surgery. Maybe technology and medical evolution has improved over time. If Silf was able to recover, then maybe Carrick and others can too, provided they have enough time to heal.

OTOH, while Silf started off hot last year, how long will that hip surgery last? All I know is going the non-invasive path didn't Silf at all. It got worse. He looks a lot better than 2020-21 with his hip surgery. I dunno if he can be back to pre-2020 season. If Silf looks good again this season, then Carrick may be good too since he's signed for two years with us.

Silf is also in his 30s now, players sometimes decline in their early 30s we might never see 40+ point Silf again.
Optimism is hoping he's around 35 points 5 goals and 30 assists.

It could be possible now that he's healthy again.

Silf's game slowly regained traction after meandering for 29 games after coming back from COVID. It took him that long to recover from COVID. Those last 15 games could be the hope of optimism for Silf's game this season.

Silf had a blood clot in his leg.. that completely hindered his game.. why he got the blood clot? Well that's something left to ponder

Guessing groin or hamstring from not playing in so long and trying way too hard... hoping nothing worse.

It’s part of what makes him effective but I wonder if he could pick his spots a bit better on when he plays with his absolute top intensity/always going mach 10. Cogs was like that though and look at him. May just have had some brutal luck so far

At least he actually made it into a game. Seems like he usually gets hurt even before that point. Small steps.

So Zegras needs arm amputation? Frontal lobe lobotomy? Spinal cord removal?

Whats the word for those of us who didn't watch the game last night
Pretty much day to day with an upper body injury, until we are told otherwise. Maybe Derek Lee or Eric Stephens will give us some info.
