Gudas and Zellweger would be a great pair. Any update on Myntikov? What happened to him?

I'd absolutely appreciate it if we got some more points and win this season. We'll drop in the lottery anyways, so let's get as much (positive) seasoning out of this trainwreck as possible.

I would like close, competitive, high scoring games that we lose in the last 40 seconds. Dropping to 4th > dropping to 5-6th.
If I may be so greedy, I'd like to give up the GWG with like 3 minutes left and then spend the final 3 minutes getting insanely close but just barely missing it. If we could repeat that for every remaining game of the season that would be great.

Giving up the GWG in the dying seconds still manages to hurt my broken soul.

I'm largely ambivalent at this point. The team has been an absolute heart breaker this year with it's strong start then a ludicrous amount of injuries, coupled with a questionable system and coaching decisions. Every point the young guys get I still celebrate like crazy though. The young guys need to go on a tear to finish the year and rack up some points along with some confidence.

We're not getting the #1 pick. And while I'd prefer our scouts/GM have their choice of the next 7 - 10 guys, they're not that far apart that I really care which of them we take. So I'd rather see some decent hockey over the last seven games of the season to give me at least a little bit of hope over the offseason.

There's a tank thread for those of you who still haven't had enough of losing. Take that shit there, or to the Flames board if you like.
That IS my optimistic post. I think they’re going to lose most of the remaining games by 3-5 goal spreads and look lethargic doing it.

Edit - I’ll cheer if they win. I just don’t see it happening, and I’d rather be entertained then beaten down emotionally.

You're confusing last year's offense with this year's offense. I'd love an offensive onslaught from this club to close out the season, but it's very unlikely. Here are the games from the 2023-23 TDL.

This year's offense since the TDL, Game 62 and onward, we've scored more the 3+ goals once, 2 goals seven times, scored 1 goal two times, and been shutout 4 times.

I honestly don't even care about the lottery this year. Last year was a different story. You had 3 primo guys to pick from in the top 3. This year I'm just not hyped on any of the defensemen I've kept my eyes on. If it's not first overall then to me, there's like 6 guys that are more or less the same quality. And I can just see this team dropping one or two spots.

If wins start shifting things mentally/emotionally for this group, I'm all for it.

Yep, I suppose moving one direction or the other would change the odds at winning the lottery, but if we don't... then I could easily see where we end up not mattering, i. e. we would take the same guy at 3 as we would at 5 or 6.

So I haven't paid much attention to where we are in the standings. This year, like you said, isn't the same as last, where it was critical we ended up in the top 3. This year, it's 1 or whatever.
