"Mighty" Oilers have 9 shots with 8 min left in the second....and of course they are up by one cause of a phantom penalty.

The Edmonton Oilers show you can win a 1-0 game but we’re told the Leafs have no chance because you can’t win a goal with 2 goals and you can’t blame Samsonov.

Kings outshoot Edmonton 33-13 and Edmonton wins 1-0.

Well said. winning games 1-0 or 2-1 is typical in playoff hockey. The idea that we cant blame Sammy for our losses is just wrong. With good goaltending, 2 goals is enough. Hopefully Woll plays next game and stones the B's.

Yeah, Vancouver and Edmonton were outshot by 20+ and won games because of good goaltending.

The idea we can’t blame Samsonov when we got to overcome 1 or 2 bad goals every game never made any sense.

None of the Leafs games have had the shot disparity as today’s Edmonton game or Game 3 against Nashville.

Supposedly us asking for .900 goaltending is too much.

That was only the second time in these playoffs a team has won with < 3 goals scored, so it's definitely not typical. Edmonton had also scored 17 goals in the previous 3 games

During this 11-game offensive ineptitude for the Leafs, they did win two games via 2-1 (game 6 vs TB and game 4 vs FLA). However, you're giving yourself little room for error when you can't reach the 3 goal mark, as we've clearly seen.

Goalies can be better, sure, but apparently asking for 3+ goals is too much for the second highest scoring team?

It’s not as if the other teams been outplaying them though. The other goalie is just better. Lots of teams win games 2-1.

If you want the Leafs to play how they played in the regular season with less attention to detail on defence then the games would be 7-5 for Boston.

If you don’t trust your goalie, you can’t take any risks or pinches because it’ll end up in the back of the net. The regular season the games matter less so the team takes much more risks. You can afford to leave your goalie hanging and beat Ottawa 7-5, it’s much less likely you can light up a team like Boston/Florida/Tampa like that.

The Leafs have only scored 2 goals for or less in 9 of their last 10 playoff games.

That essentially means Leafs have to win all their games by 2-1 or 1-0 scores.
