I'm with you. As much as I dislike Dallas and Benn specifically I actually do quite enjoy watching some of their younger guys like Heiskenan, Hintz and Johnston. They are a very good team and IMO should be the favorite to win it all this year, Florida right behind.
I have Dallas and FL in the final. I've been thinking about their young forwards (including Robertson) and how cool it would be to watch them square off against ours if ours reach Dallas's ceilings.

Hmm arent Montgomery out of line saying that on public? There Will Be Blood.

Did he really say all this? It almost looks like fake video.
I think you’re right. Listened to it more than watched it the first time but yeah, the video is jumpy. But damn, these deep fakes are getting better.
Jeesus i hot owned by AI. Other topic I saw video where ppl were interacting with chatgbt. AI she interact what every man wants to hear from The woman. IT was scary.

Now have to Be carefull what you see in internet.
Just to clarify on this, the guy who posted the video on twitter has this tagline in his bio:

"Home of AI-enhanced sports parodies. All in good fun, none in earnest."

This is not real and the poster knows damn well that most the people who see his videos will never see the disclaimer in his bio.

I absolutely hate crap like this. We are rapidly approaching the point where fake videos will be completely convincing to the untrained eye and our laws aren't remotely prepared for it. Careful what you rely on out there.

I want to like PK Subban as a person. He seems fun, he seems like he cares about others, but jesus is he f***ing horrible on the intermission show.

I would also add to this that PR and communications staffs need to have plans in place to address the amount of situations that AI generated video and audio can bring up.

Someone mentioned Dallas’ defense is a problem. It certainly is, but with the Avs looking weak up front (Nichushkin), Dallas will squeak by.

The Avs will come out very structured, so the Stars will have to match forward intensity.

I gotta say that it's concerning that you would think we should have laws to restrict someones freedom to make fake videos on the internet when the person even comes right out and says they make parody videos.

Yeah once people get fined, suspended, have their identities stolen or straight up jailed because someone thought making a deepfake was funny or worse yet them purposely trying to accomplish the aforementioned it will be a perfect display of freedom.

There’s been deepfake porn videos made of female streamers, so we’re already seeing people having massive problems due to this.

Canada outshooting Norway 21-0 after two periods. Never seen a goalie get a shutout with a 0% save percentage before. Daws is in net. All 3 Canada goalies getting the night off
A couple minutes into the 3rd, Stian Solberg scored on Norway’s 2nd shot of the game to make it 2-1. Canada then scored a shorty and empty netter. 4-1 final. Norway finished with 6 shots on goal…so at least ended up with more shots than Canada scored goals.

How did Solberg look other than the goal scored? I have been interested to see how he would stack up against the better teams.

The Avs are about to eliminate themselves.
I had the game paused at 2-2 as I was putting my kids to bed when I saw this post.

As I started watching the 3rd period, I was probably about 45-50 min behind live tv. Then Colorado scored. Then they scored again.

Huh…must be a pretty late come back coming from the Stars I thought.

Then Stankoven scores. This is it! The start of the Avs epic collapse!

Nothing…

Nothing…

Getting kind of late here…this Avs collapse is going to be extra painful

MacKinnon scores

More nothing

Game ends

So disappointing

I don’t know. I just watched the highlights. He finished -2 but once again led Norway in ice time. I doubt much can be gleaned from a game where one team only gets 6 SOG so I doubt I’m going to take the time to find and watch this one on ESPN+ but it’s pretty impressive he’s being used as his country’s #1 d-man at age of 18.

I mean, it’s good for him. That’s really not good for Norway if an 18 year old is the best d-man in the entire country. 🤷‍♂️

But I guess they’re better than Denmark as they beat them 2-0. Then again, Denmark destroyed Austria and then Austria took Canada to OT. The WC is screwy…

Messier can't stand him and can't hide it. lol

The best part of the ESPN intermission report is seeing Mess trying really hard not to just strangle PK. Top notch entertainment lol

A few games ago PK talked for a whole segment, they came back from break and he just kept on talking to the point that Mess literally cut him off just to get a word in.

Whenever I watch these first round games involving the top teams I just assume they are hungover from the night before. Then again, Canada has been playing like they're hungover all tournament. They know when to turn it on though, and it would surprise no one if they snatch the gold yet again. Sweden looks like the team to beat so far, though. Hell of a blue line on that team, eh? Hedman, Karlsson, Brodin, Dahlin isn't a bad top 4.

Top-4 of Hedman-Karlsson and Brodin-Dahlin. No other team comes close to that.

My take is that these guys are putting in below average effort. Slightly above pre-season effort. There’s pride in wearing your country’s jersey but these guys aren’t going to kill themselves like the Cup playoffs. Unless you’re Austria, Denmark etc. This tourney may be the highlight of their entire career. So you have some of these guys going balls to the walls in the most epic battle of their lives and others where they didn’t even bother paying attention to the pre-game scouting session. That’s my explanation as to why some of the results are screwy and the play an uneven mess. It’ll probably ramp up a level once it gets to single game elimination.

Totally agree. Living in Europe I pay closer attention to this tourney just because it's such a big deal here, but yeah many of the stars don't even start trying until the elimination games start. And you're absolutely right about the weaker teams. For these guys it might be the highlight of their whole career, wheras it's more like a working vacation for many of the NHL guys. Finland won a few years ago with a team of non-NHLers, which isn't as surprising as it seemed on the surface for the reasons you mentioned.

HaHaHa!!! Love this! In a sick sort of way.

The Stars' defense is most challenged. When they have to shelter Lundkvist to 2:28TOI, there's a problem. He got 6:05TOI in the G4 win, but that's only because they had a comfortable lead.
4:42TOI in G3. With Jani and Poulliot as the next men up, it doesn't look good for the Stars. They have two games to get this right, but their D (and forwards) must be exhausted.

I can't see the Stars winning the Cup.

I’ll forgive you.

I remember being a little surprised the Rangers got a 1st for Lundkvist. Wondered, is he better than I thought? Apparently nope!

Oh well. That pick is what the Rangers then traded to us as the main piece for Tarasenko and netted us Lindstein.

That game was like the Screaming Eagle ending in a derailment.

With that said, the Stars' outlook on D is dismal with most of them entering FA and Suter pushing 40 entering next season. They have defensive prospects coming up and should be able to shed some contracts to shore up the D, but this post season? nope

Stars might get past the Avs, but how far can they realistically go?

Theo might be a keeper.
