Here’s my spreadsheet for upcoming UFAs, each team’s cap situation, and a trade tracker. I update the spreadsheet daily. I use CapFriendly to create this list and AFP Analytics for the contract projections.

Edit: Spreadsheet has been updated with AFP's latest projections and I added a new section for RFAs.

Beyond looking at the guys we have to extend like Zadorov, Lindholm, Hronek, etc., I hope the main objective in free agency is to find a skilled winger to play with Pettersson. Toffoli would be my ideal candidate given the familiarity there, but I really don't care who it is, so long as we get someone who can make some plays and work with Petey.

Can't see anyway Myers gets less than $3M/yr.

I also find it hilarious that Chatfield is projected to get a higher AAV than Myers since the Canucks gave him away for nothing.

Beyond looking at the guys we have to extend like Zadorov, Lindholm, Hronek, etc., I hope the main objective in free agency is to find a skilled winger to play with Pettersson. This was through half-season’s worth of results and the final projected contracts will be out in the next few weeks. So that may change.

Canucks:

  1. Miller (Warrior/Leader)
  2. BOESER (Big Big Goals)
  3. Garland (consistently good)
  4. Lindholm (solid 2-way play)
  5. Zadorov (changed team physically)
  6. Hughes (moves puck extremely well)
  7. Joshua (big moments, solid playoffs)
  8. Silovs (incredible given the situation)
  9. Myers (what a turnaround)
  10. Soucy (good playoffs)
  11. Blueger (3rd liner playing on the 4th)
  12. Suter (showed a lot of heart)
  13. Pettersson (needs to be better)
  14. DeSmith (good)
  15. Hronek (needs to be better)
  16. Cole (great 1st series, bad 2nd series)
  17. Lafferty (average play)
  18. PDG (good pk & defensive play)
  19. Hoglander (average play, hasn’t scored
  20. Juulsen (small sample, good hitting bad decision making)
  21. Karlsson (small sample, looked good)
  22. Aman (small sample, looked good)
  23. Mikheyev (useless roaming)

Those aren't really grades and how are guys that played less than a couple games rated higher than players who have been in the battle.

Could have just said Pettersson Mikhayev Hronek and Hoglander have not been good

i would not have expected to be leading in the second round and full value for that with people rating hughes as our 6th best player in the playoffs and me not being able to convincingly refute that.

and let's not get started with ep40.

we really are playing with house money right now. this team has a lot of jam.

well the Lindholm/Monahan/Henrique discourse went well. Recency biases with counting stats and all. It's only a small part of player evaluations.

Oilers and Jets acquired Derek Roys.

55 points in 78 games, most of which were played with the imploding Devils who had worse goaltender than Edmonton does right now. He was one of the few good players on a Jets team that got torn to pieces by the Avs.

Not sure how you'd equate this to being done.

My ideal signings would be Toffoli and either Bertuzzi or Duclair. All of them should be somewhehre in the 4-5M range. Depending how things go with our UFAs (plus Hronek), we should be able to afford both. This does assume we dump Mikheyev with a potential sweeter but I feel that's more than worth the cost.

I'm exlcuding Guentzel here because I just don't think that happens. Would be nice but someone's giving him 9.5-10M. That isn't going to be us.

Here's one to stir the pot😂 do you guys think signing pat Kane for Pete to play with would work? And maybe trading mikhayev to Anaheim for vatrano along with whatever it takes to get him?

I dont think Kane would sign here, travel is worst in the league + the history. He probably looking somewhere out east.

I think that scenario may be the only time both Canuck and Hawk fans can agree on something:

from what i know of kane i think it would be a smart move. i don't think he could impose his personality on the room. he'd be a valuable hired gun.

but i think the chances are good he would not be able to handle playing for the canucks. he's much more likely to be an oiler next.

Kane likely knew about Kyle Beach being assaulted and did absolutely nothing about it. We don't know that he wasn't one of the people making derogatory comments about it (we also don't know that he was).

Not a chance I want him here.
