Title Race
  • Man City wins the title with a win OR Arsenal failing to win.
  • Arsenal wins the title with a win AND Man City failing to win.

5th Place - Europa League
  • Tottenham secures 5th place with a win or draw OR Chelsea failing to win.
  • Chelsea gets 5th with a win AND a Tottenham loss.

6th Place
  • Tottenham gets 6th with a loss AND a Chelsea win
  • Chelsea gets 6th place with (1) a win and a Tottenham win or draw; (2) a draw; (3) a loss AND Newcastle fails to win AND United fails to win or United fails to pverturn a GD of 16.
  • Newcastle gets 6th place with a win and a Chelsea loss AND United fails to win by at least 24 more goals than Newcastle
  • United gets 6th place with a win and a Chelsea loss and United makes up a GD of 16 AND Newcastle fails to win or wins but United makes up a GD of 24.

7th Place
  • Chelsea gets 7th place with a loss and a Newcastle win OR a United win and United makes up a GD of 16
  • Newcastle gets 7th place with (1) a win and a Chelsea win or draw AND a United loss, draw, or win that makes up a GD of 24; (2) a draw and a United loss or draw; (3) a loss and a United loss.

Relegation

Chelsea 6th place should be United fails to win or United fails to overturn a 16 GD at the end not that they fail to win and overturn the GD

Chelsea 7th place is a 1 of the Newcastle win or the United win + 16GD situations but not both as both would put Chelsea 8th.
Newcastle 7th (1) should be a United win that *doesn't* make up a GD of 24. Technically the loss + loss situation should have the same type of criteria on it.
United 7th is probably easier to say as (1) Win and one (and only one) of: (a) Chelsea loss and United make up GD of 16; (b) Newcastle loss or draw; (c) Newcastle win but United make up 24GD; (2) Draw and Newcastle loss; (3) Loss and Newcastle loss where United make up 24GD

Obviously things become a lot simpler if you pretend (reasonably so) that 10+ GD isn't going to be overcome as most of the situations disappear.

Appreciate it - it's always a good way to kill 10 minutes at work. And now I have a weirdly good knowledge of the stadia in England (and really, Europe).

Having accepted City running the table for so long now, it's strangely jarring reading that there's actually still technically a chance

So presumably since City is the one in first, the trophy will be in Manchester waiting should they win, but what if they lose and Arsenal win?

Do they just wait the 3-4 hours for the trophy to drive from Manchester to London or do they have a dummy trophy for them to life immediately?

I've read that there's multiple trophies, so there will be a trophy and medals at both matches.

Then and there
Ederson is said to miss both the last league match and FA Cup final. Tough for him, but that shouldn't matter a lot with Ortega's good recent displays.

How funny would it be if both City and Arsenal drop points today, would make it so much more of a missed opportunity for Arsenal and cause their fans bigger nightmares.
