:seattle@landsbergfan time is up! Autopick will be Ryder Ritchie

Pick can be changed if a new one is made before @Young Sandwich selects
I would never pick someone named Ryder

Sorry for the delay. Will pick in a couple minutes

Edit: okay never mind. Just realized my entire list got picked so that’s that. Let the record show that I did not pick someone named Ryder, he was auto picked for me…

Ryder Ritchie. @Young Sandwich is still up

Before the draft announcers have even finished calling the Nashville Predators to the podium, team pregame host Lyndsay Rowley bounds up the steps followed by a sullen-looking Barry Trotz and associates.

"Hey, y'all! We are SO EXCITED to make our next selection in this here 2024 NHL draft. TAKE IT AWAY BARRYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!"

Mr. Trotz approaches the microphone like it is the gallows.

"For the 53rd overall pick, the Nashville Predators [SOUND EFFECT OF A JAGUAR GROWLING] ... ughhh ... are pleased to select, from Czechia's Bílí Tygři Liberec, defenseman Tomas Galvas."

"Yayyy, Tommy! Way to go! Welcome to the Predators!!" [SOUND EFFECT OF A JAGUAR GROWLING] Ms. Rowley shouts. Mr. Trotz shakes Mr. Galvas' hand and then makes a beeline to the bar.

Please come to the podium right away, @zaluty.

"Thanks to you, Washington. We appreciates ya! Did you miss us?" Ms. Rowley laughs way too loudly at her joke, while Mr. Trotz visibly reddens. "I'm pleased as punch to bring our General Manager Barry back to the microphone for our NEXT BIG PICK!! [SOUND EFFECT OF A JAGUAR GROWLING] C'mon over here, BARRYYYYYYYYYYYY!"

With the dead eyes of a man who has lost the will to continue, Mr. Trotz looks down at his notepad -- emblazoned with violent doodles -- and announces, "With the 55th pick, the Nashville Predators [SOUND EFFECT OF A JAGUAR GROWLING] do you REALLY need to do that? ... are pleased to select, from CSKA Moscow of the KHL, defenseman Matvei Shuravin."

Come and end this tragic scene, @SimGrindcore.

The 32 franchises seated in the 32 tables that were purchased at the Costco located at 801 S Pavilion Center Dr. The Keebler Elf decided to cut costs and went with the Iceberg IndestrucTable. Of course he negotiated a great savings with his giant bulk purchase. His hired minion elves covered the tables with black tablecloths and staged them for each franchise. At one of these tables was the illustrious Edmonton Oilers franchise.

Ken Holland sat there at the table. His iPad and MacBook were illuminated. He clicked through his tabs and scrolled through his notes on his iPad. He appeared to be flummoxed. Ass GM Keith Gretzky decided to open his mouth to break the silence, the Oilers were on the clock.

KG: Well boys what the f*** are we doing?

Ken Holland took of his glasses and leaned back in his chair and let out a sigh.

Fake Kenny H: Well boys here's what we know. It's that time of the year where all 32 illustrious franchises turn into a bunch of caracatrues for the amusement of random posters on a hockey forum. I don't even know if we won the cup at this point in time. Did we lose to the Nucks? Anyone know?

Fake Kenny H scanned the table but everyone was silent. No one knew.

Fake Kenny H: Anyways we all know what this bloody roster needs.

KG: How the duck are we supposed to find a number 1 defenseman in round 2 Kenny?

Fake Kenny H: I don't know. I can't trade for one of those. Prices are too damn high. We clearly paid Darnell to be a number one but that doesn't look too good at the moment. The only way out is to throw darts and hope we hit a bullseye.

KG: But you do realize that means we have to develop them and coach them up Kenny.

Fake Kenny H: That's where we're golden boys. I figured it out. Were just a bunch of AI in a world created for the amusement of nerds. This means things can be manipulated a lot easier ya know. There's variables that can be changed, outcomes can be skewed one way or another.

The table sat there with blank looks on their faces.

KG: What the bloody hell are you talking about Kenny?

Fake Kenny H: Don't worry about it. Anyways do we like this kid?

Fake Kenny H posted the name of a prospect in the Oilers Slack.

The table nodded in in agreement.

Fake Kenny H leaned into the microphone in front of him and turned it on.

Fake Kenny H: With the 57th pick the Edmonton Oilers select from Rimouski of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, Spencer Gill.

Edmonton Selections
57) Spencer Gill (RD) - RImouski (QMJHL)
