The Winnipeg Jets take on the Los Angeles Sharks tonight at 8:00pm at the Winnipeg Arena in what looks to be a capacity crowd of over 10,100 for the game. The 44-24-6 Jets are coming off of a 3-2 loss against the Ottawa Nationals on Saturday night and have now lost six straight games. The Sharks are 38-24-11 on the season after a 4-2 loss against the Calgary Cowboys on Saturday and have now lost two straight games.
Los Angeles star forward PL Dubois, leads the team in goals and points, and has been quite effective on the power play and penalty kill after being acquired from the Jets this past summer. Sharks coach Terry Slater said of Dubois, "He's a real complete player, never taking a game off. He's a great leader, both on an off the ice."
Winnipeg will be in tough, but co-coach Nick Mickoski thinks the team will start to turn things around. "We've had a bit of a slump since the All-Star break," said Mickoski, "but things will start turning around for us, I know it." With only eight games remaining in the season, let's hope Mickoski is right.
Kyle Connor, who has thirty goals on the year despite being an incredible defensive specialist, also thinks the Jets are due tonight. "We've played some pretty solid hockey lately, but it hasn't showed up on the stats sheet," said Connor. "We need to focus on what we do right."
After the game, the Jets get a few days off before flying to Calgary to take on the Cowboys on Thursday.
Go Jets Go!
