Simple enough, with one rule: You cannot post a lineup that someone has already posted. Identical rosters are okay, but the line combos must be different. (You don't have to worry about defense siding, just pairings).

I'll be a good sport and make mine somewhat non-traditional.

Man, if Schroeder doesn't have an impressive showing we're screwed until Kesler comes back.

Yes, I fully expect Luongo will regain his status as the starting goalie for us.

I base mine off if Luongo get's traded.

Daniel - Henrik - Burrows
Booth - Schroeder - Kadri
Higgins - Bozak - Hansen
Manny - Lappierre - Kassian
Raymond

The rest is obvious.

Actually since it's AV, Raymond and Kassian would probably be switched but oh well this is the way I want it.

Make my day.
Sedin-Sedin-Burrows
Higgins-Schroeder-Kassian
Raymond-Malhotra-Hansen
Booth-Lapierre-Weise

2,3 and 4 lines will all get similar time.

Manny line will get the defensive duties with Raymond and Hansen on it.

Higgins over Booth to partner Schroeder as he'll be a better match for the rookie, and better able to help with the NHL level defensive load.

Sedin Sedin Burrows
We need a consistent top line to carry us into the playoffs in a short season. We can't afford to mess around with the Sedin line and miss the playoffs because of it.

Booth Schroeder Hansen
Booth needs a player like Schroeder. A player who will put the puck on his stick so he can take and fire. Hansen's offensive game looked a lot better playing in Finland with Barkov while playing solid defensive hockey. He will do the same with Schroeder.

Raymond Lapierre Kassian

We know Lapierre has some offensive talent in there. We also know he's played his best with Kassian (when he's not afraid). This will be a solid physical line with some good offensive abilities all around. This also allows Kassian to be practice being more consistent physically while playing with players who have offensive abilities too.

Higgins Malhotra Weise
This is a solid 4th line and should match up against most in the league. It isn't a contenders 4th line, but we won't have one until Kesler is back.

Hamhuis Tanev
Garrison Bieksa
Edler Ballard

Luongo
Schnieder

The best thing about this is that everyone is comfortable where they are (except for Ballard, but I expect him to excel this year), and there is scoring ability everywhere. None of these lines are defensively suspect either.

Aside: Schnieder is going to get hurt in the playoffs and Luongo is going to take us to the Cup. :D Quote me on it

I do not think Kassian and Schroeder make the team. I am imagining this is the opening night roster but I expect it to change throughout the season. Gillis may view this as a mulligan for last season's playoffs?

Now that the situation is known, I don't think the Canucks are badly positioned at all. The old and beaten up players have had ample rest and recuperation time. Young guys have had time to address game faults. Best, for me, is that a shortened season won't have as much of a step up to post season play. The Canucks won't arrive in this season's playoffs worn out. It is amply clear to everyone that change must come. The players know this, too. The coaches might mention it.
