The last time we got a goaltender from Buffalo... It didn't go well. But, in the end, a 22-year-old goaltender prospect fits our biggest weakness in the pipeline so refunding Buffalo their 3rd round pick is reasonable.
If we have any more goalies in the future who aren't interested in signing we'll call you guys up again.lolHe’s a good goalie prospect, not great, who seemingly wasn’t signing in buffalo after finishing up his college career this year
A la Cal Petersen
Ya, Ole Cal Peterson played us both. Well, we get a do over, here's to hoping it goes well this time aroundThe last time we got a goaltender from Buffalo... It didn't go well. Only if Kopitar & Doughty are involved in the deal.I believe @Kurrilino will be excited here

Is he going to sign with LA?
Good luck Erik! Wonder if he goes back for his fourth year at Michigan?
Guessing LA’s brass thinks we can sign him cause we have nothing in our system blocking him If he signs here he should be the starter in the AHL right away.I can't imagine LA traded us a 3rd if they weren't confident they could sign him.
Buuuuuuuut then again, we did the same with Jimmy Vesey..................................
I can't be more happy.I believe @Kurrilino will be excited here
He is in the top 10 goalie prospects of the NHL.Can genuinely say I have no idea who this mushroom sounding guy is
I would maybe send Petersen to the ECHL, and then have Portillo/Villalta manning the pipes with the Ontario Reign. I think that would give Portillo good incentive to sign an entry level contract.Good luck Erik! Wonder if he goes back for his fourth year at Michigan?
God d**** I wanted the Habs to trade for him
