Because Sheahan won't have a position to play if Datsyuk, Legwand, Weiss, and Helm are centering all four lines, and Sheahan loses waiver exemption after this season.
Franzen started as a center, Abdelkader started as a center. Heck even Zetterberg was moved to wing. It's not unheard of to move a center to wing. It also doesn't have to be Sheahan. We've been talking all year about trying Weiss on the wing to get him going.
I'm not saying one of those two guys might not be let go but we have no idea. There are options. I would rather lose Ferraro and Callahan and keep Legwand and Weiss and move one of our centers to wing.
My previous line combo's:
Henrik Zetterberg ($6.083m) / Pavel Datsyuk ($7.500m) / Daniel Alfredsson ($5.500m)
Johan Franzen ($3.955m) / David Legwand ($4.500m) / Gustav Nyquist ($0.950m)
Tomas Tatar ($1.750m) / Riley Sheahan ($1.500m) / Stephen Weiss ($4.900m)
Justin Abdelkader ($1.800m) / Darren Helm ($2.125m) / Tomas Jurco ($0.709m)
Joakim Andersson ($0.733m) / Drew Miller ($1.350m) /
All I'm saying is it can be done and to make a definite claim that one has to be gone isn't 100% true.
