Adding Macklin would be nice, don't get me wrong. I'd just explore to see if there is an insane deal out there from a desperate team. He isn't in that shoe-in class of 1 overall franchise guys a la McDavid, MacKinnon, Bedard to me.

Nitpicking but I think Dahlin had more hype than Hughes or Celebrini pre draft. Dahlin was called the best defensive prospect since Denis Potvin.

I live in Utah so Utah's chance plus Buffalo's chance of winning that I'm happy. Holy goodness does Utah/Arizona need defensemen though. Celebrini would be nice but I think UT/AZ is perfectly happy sitting at 6 and taking defense.

Yeah, in no universe was Celebrini ever considered a better draft prospect than Dahlin. Your ranking is better than the Athletic's. I'd go:

3. Matthews/Dahlin
5. Lafreniere
6. Celebrini
7. Hughes
8. Power
9. Hischier
10. Slafkovsky

Solely in terms of how they were regarded at the time of the draft.
