Frantic ending to Wednesday night's game between PWHL New York & PWHL Ottawa, well worth the Ref Cam & hot mic distractions ...

With OTT leading 3-2 in the third period, New York pulled goalie Abigail Levy in the 19th minute and had several 6-on-5 chances in Ottawa's end. In the closing minute, NY defender Ella Shelton had the open net staring at her but OTT d-woman Ashton Bell pulled out her hidden goaltending skills to deny the tie. In the dying seconds with Levy still on the bench, Ottawa forward Lexie Adzija put the New York comeback to rest with a long range rolling puck with eyes. Final score = OTT 4 - NYC 2.

Barbie to become Official Partner of the PWHL

TORONTO, ON (February 29, 2024) – The Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL) and Mattel Canada today announced a new partnership for the league’s inaugural season. The agreement sees the leading global toy company’s iconic Barbie brand, named an Official Partner of the PWHL.

Should St. Louis get a team for JMCx4?
IMO there is no "Should" in discussions re. placement of sports franchises. But the PWHL would have a tough go finding ice time, and battling the decades-old "If it ain't the St. Louis Blues, it ain't hockey!" sentiment. The latter resistance has softened some with the recent boom in youth hockey around STL Metro (a marketing segment that seems key to the League's strategy of fanbase growth), so maybe someone with money & significant local influence could pull it off. It just seems to me that Chicago & Nashville & possibly Kansas City would be more fruitful markets around the region, *if* the PWHL Advisory Board become keen on expansion in coming years.

But you didn't post the tweet. I live in PT zone.
I'll leave you to your PT-exclusive X's, then.

Couldn't somebody with some computer graphics skills have spruced up the PWHL branding with a splash of pink in this image?

Tuesday night game, PWHL Ottawa @ PWHL Minnesota, puck drops 7 PM CST (or there abouts). Streaming coverage on TSN, Bally Sports North, NESN, and my go-to You Tube. All three previous meetings resulted in MIN victories, and a 4th win tonight would put them back in 1st place.
