I planted tomatoes. First half day, some animal tore at them something awful. So, I added plastic jars around each shoot. A few hours later, the jars are knocked over and the plants shredded.. Fixed them, replaced the jars and added sticks weighted down with garden stones (5 lb weight)..another half day, everything was on the ground, the jars upended again and the plants are shredded.

What on God's green earth is causing that? Can the Ferrell cat have enough strength to knock over a 5 lb stone?

I replaced everything this morning and put two stones per jar at an angle to weight everything down.. But I have no faith. I am going to look out and see the area be practically bombed out!!!

GF and I needed to do something on a rainy day yesterday, so went and saw a matinee showing of Fall Guy. Anyone seen it yet?

What a love letter to stunt performers! Plot was thready, romance was cheesy af, but the jokes were pretty funny and the stunts were really solid. We decided to go for the DBOX seats on a whim, and I was surprised at how much it didn't take away from the experience

And when you do get them growing, when they start to flower, make sure to pinch off any new suckers that start to form between the main trunk and the branches. It'll force the plant to focus on growing bigger tomatoes instead of new branches.

Definitely sounds like raccoons. A racoon can roll a 50 pound boulder off the lid of a trash can (seen it a few times around Algonquin). They are smart little buggers when it comes to food.

In late January two were in teh tree. i watched all evening long as the two sat there. One was big, probably a pregnant female.

So, I have a racoon nest somewhere!!!

Had a Squirrel that got up into the soffit around my garage, and proceeded to repair, and block the access to the soffit, and had to fend off the squirrel in the process…. Assume a nest was inside, but not going to be getting in there anytime soon, or out if the squirrel is trapped inside.

Get some coyotes

These tips target some of the loves & hates we mentioned foxes have and can help deter foxes and prevent them coming back:

1. Make sure you keep your garden as clean as you possibly can, remove any rubbish that might be blowing around, and just generally keep it tidy – Foxes won’t come back if they have no reason too
2. If you have a fox issue, unfortunately they will leave faeces. Make sure you pick these up regularly, which we know isn’t the most desirable job – you have to thoroughly hose down the area as well. This is part of them leaving their scent, so use any smell repellents or the DIY smell repellent we told you about earlier in the place of the faeces
3. Move things around – foxes like familiarity, so make sure you move your gnomes, hose, whatever it is, just try and disturb the area
4. Cut the grass, trim the hedges & keep everything in check. They like shaded areas, the less of them the better
5. If you have noticed an area they regularly bed down and find comfortable, place a large object that they can’t move on it
6. Invest in some of the products that we are going to mention later!
7. Now you may not want to do this it’s completely up to you, it sounds bad but stay with us. Pour male urine in the areas the fox regularly spends time – it’s a deterrent believe it or not!

Changing times, FINALLY

After 20 years of TV networks (specifically sports) trying in vain to chase 20 something viewers, they finally got it. 20 somethings are not watching, we old guys are.

So this morning, I am watching the tennis from Rome and what does the camera do? Pan into the crowd to show every good looking woman..... every good looking, 50 PLUS year old woman!! No more 20 somethings.

I noticed TSN, Sportsnet, TSN1200 locally.. No more trying to be young and hip. No more slang, no more abbreviations. No more 40 plus year olds trying to come off as 20 somethings.

Heck, I watched the F1 this weekend. No more, Quallie, tyre Deg. It is returning to Qualification, Tyre Degradation.

Even Trudeau has changed. No more seeing him half naked, showing off his tattoos.

Thank you to all us old people for winning the war. And thank you Gen Z... you found it idiotic as well and were not lured back in.

Side note:

Did anyone notice the "Hairclub" ad at the Miami arena, right behind Jim Montgomery. Priceless!
They needed to run a "Green Mile" ad behind Sheldon Keefe.

We thought it was strange too, but foxes are everywhere here, we see them almost every day and you aren't allowed to disturb them if they den up on your property. We checked tracks in the winter and googled them and were about 99% sure it was a fox. I've also seen them walk up to the places in my yard that I'm referring to right in front of me, just not dropping deuces. And the only other wildlife in the area is basically birds and domesticated pets, but very few roamers since everybody ties them up and you don't see stray cats. I don't even seem to have anyone in the neighbourhood with a cat that ever mosies over. You do see the odd coyote, but it's been years since I saw the last one.

Pancreatic cancer remains high as does death rate.. ironically enough, it is similar to colorectal cancer. with the exception of diabetes being a more serious issue. Sadly, this suggest diabetes is a huge variable. Ditto for ovarian cancer.

cervical cancer is on the rise... HPV.. we have teenager jumping into bed with each other.. WARN your children folks.
