99% it's going to be Arniel. Always was going to be Arniel. He's probably already been given the position...they are just waiting for the right time to announce.

I dropped the percentage to 99 to allow just a little bit of wiggle room for something magical to happen.

Craig Berube
D.J. Smith
Dallas Eakins
Dan Bylsma
Dave Hakstol
David Quinn
Davis Payne
Dean Evason
Don Granato
Geoff Ward
Gerard Gallant
J.D. Forrest
Jay Woodcroft
Jeff Blashill
Jeremy Colliton
Joe Sacco
John Gruden
Karl Taylor
Kevin Dineen
Kirk Muller
Lane Lambert
Marco Sturm
Mike Yeo
Phil Housley
Scott Arniel
Seth Appert
Sheldon Keefe
Todd McLellan
Todd Nelson
Todd Reirden
Trent Yawney

That's just former head coaches and current assistants and a few AHL guys. Some of them suck. But there are at least 5 good ones in that group...
I only see a few with Jets connections. We all know it’s going to be Arniel and same assistants on the Huddy plan.

It's a smoke screen. Arniel will be next HC of the Jets.

It may eventually come that he will be the next head coach, but why didn't they just announce it when Bowmess retired, if that was going to always be the end goal? it's not as complicated or nefarious as people suggest it is. Don't promise people jobs. He should have to re-interview for it. Do it right. Don't be left holding the bag like the last time when you were Trotz or bust.

Because:

"After a long and arduous hunt for a new head coach, TNSE has decided to go with the person we feel is the most qualified to take our team to the next step. We congratulate, and would like to introduce Scott Arniel as the new Jets Head Coach"

sounds better than:

"Because he's already coaching here, we congratulate, and would like to introduce Scott Arniel as the new Jets Head Coach"

Even though the end result is the same, hiring Arniel the day after Bowness retires , would have been sending the wrong message.

Hmmmmmm....

Physically goes to Toronto to be interviewed.... Winnipeg comes calling to offer you a 7 figure job and Zoom it is.

Didn't Berube hear that we have crappy internet in Winnipeg. What if the internet dies in the middle of the interview?
