2022 Cup to Calgary
Tiredness is really not an excuse for making boneheaded plays in the d-zone time after time. Bad coverage and bad puck management all period long.

Chad protected the lead by himself basically.

For whatever reason, the Flames have played way more of these "Hartley" type games with Johnson in net, and much more possession hockey with Elliott in net. They are a 48.3% CF team with Johnson (before tonight) and a 54.3% CF team with Elliott. It's strange.

What kind of image are you portraying to young kinds if you have a guy on your roster dropping photo bombs all the time? :sarcasm:

PS: I missed it, if you see a clip I can go peruse, that would be awesome :)

Because putting him there was what dragged our PP out of the toilet in the first place. Besides, he set up the only good chance on that PP.

I don't know . . . I just never see him looking stellar back there, just a lot of average. As far as I'm concerned just put one of our D there. It seem like we're forcing something that doesn't need to be. But whatevs, you're probably right. I'm going to watch it more closely going forward. I only seem to remember him there when he screws up.

I'm not saying it's necessarily the best thing right now for him to be there. That top PP unit has stagnated big-time. I'm just suggesting that's probably the reason he is there. We had absolutely nothing going, we put together the PP setup with Gaudreau and Versteeg on opposite flanks, and magic happened. The PP went on a tear.

We're as cold now as we were early in the year, though. Might be time for a shakeup. I think the PP was doing something when they were hot that other teams have since figured out how to defend.
