Covid flatten cap has neutered usual passing of the guard.

• Between "Established Teams" -vs- "Upcoming Teams" that plays out.
• Timing of where team was at when flatten-cap hit.
• Help decide a teams fate right now.
• Takes more than being good to win titles.
• Timing is one of those things that helps title odds.

Was best series as far as number of games in series goes, but.....

• Saying best here, is like being asked to pick between best properties within dump landfill.
• If not for game one comeback, Oilers -vs Canucks would not have been close.
• Sadly, series would've been like other 1st & 2nd rd series these playoffs.
• NHL is top heavy, depth issues have hurt competitiveness across-the-board we fans would normally witness.
• If any NHL club, who had contracts mostly shored up before covid flat cap hit, would have better odds of staying afloat on the competitive seas.
• Those NHL organizations have risen to top during this covid flat-cap era.
• This happens, but flat-cap sped that up this process of passing of guard 10-fold.
• Skewed how close early playoff series were during 1st & 2nd rounds (Won't get better until cap goes up either)
• NHL didn't feel flatten cap right away but feeling it now after few off-seasons chipped away at many clubs.
• These playoff results help show flat-cap depth issues have caught up to NHL.

Storyline wise? Maybe, probably?... Entertainment wise? Absolutely not, you can safely deny this based on the last 5/6 periods Vancouver played, near single digit shots going into the third period looked like they didn't belong which is unfortunate, impressive shut down hockey by the Oilers who only had a few shaky moments in game 6 and 7, which is weird to say out loud given their play style

Games 1-5 were off the charts exciting. Games 6 & 7 were blah. It's never exciting when only one team shows up.

when Canadian teams match up it's just more fun. Besides...hockey in florida? Hockey in texas? Barf.
