Idk if the solution for blow out wouldn't be a joint-team between regions to bolster the teams a little bit. Ukraine/BLr/Kazak/China/Mongolia, Denmark/Norway/Iceland, Slovenia/Latvia, etc. Language barriers would be real but st least they'd be somewhat competitive and not blow-outs every game.

That or cut the number of teams for tournament A and have tournament B to open up spots, basically making a B tournament and making B tournament the C one? Idk. It just always sucked to have gimme games like this, although it makes great miracle stories when they win.

Outside of the swastika snapchat with his buddy, he's got a long history of bullying teammates, some alleged slurs, and two incidents of urinating and defecating in teammates bags.

The slurs and snapchat already take him off the list, if that didn't happen the culture stuff is still too important to the Habs for them to invest high draft capital into a shitty teammate. Character and culture is too important to them.
Agreed.
I fell for it :( , I'm such a noob
I didn't think his name is Eklund.

So Mckenna has 13 points in 3 1/2 games so far....that's nuts.

Just as an example, Connor Bedard had 14 points in 7 games in the U18's 2 years before his draft year (2021). Yes, Mckenna is an early birthday (Dec) and Bedard a late birthday (July), but still. Those are crazy stats.

Honorable mention to James Hagens who has 15 points in 4 games and Porter Martone who has 12 points in 3 1/2 games so far.

Much weaker tournament this year, for once no Russia, so everyone's bumped up a spot. Also Mckennna is just very good, lol.

Imagine wanting Iginla to do more while he has a point in every game and is goal per game. What are we expecting out of these kids lmao? Who cares about gimme games, nobody's getting motivated in dunks against Switzerland or Kazakhstan.

Yeah, its still ridiculous though. In Canada's preliminary group in 2021, they had Sweden, Belarus, Switzerland and Latvia, so pretty weak also.

Anyways, all that to say that there are some spectacular prospects in the next 2 drafts.

Russia doesn't make much of a difference. Maybe 5 good teams instead of 4.
It makes a huge difference stats wise. Russia games are usually close in scores, they rarely every get blown out. You replace that with a team that gets blown out 6-0++ every game, stats are going up. Especially for players as talented as McKenna.

I'm gonna judge Iginla more in the big games against the legit teams.

Still even Helenius managed to put up some multi point efforts against the weak teams. Historically top 10 picks at this tournament have put up points at a higher pace.

Should be flashing more skill in these games same way as I expected Helenius to.

He's been very whelming for what some people view as a top 5 pick. He's likely going to be outside of the top 20 in scoring after today.
