When we worked for county government we were able to get Monroe County license plates. It was usually two letters like MN or MR and then a two or three digit number. My old friend may still have the plates MR 69. He got so many reactions out on the road.

Don't know what has and/or has not been posted anywhere on his jersey number... but from what can determine, there is a little bit of an interesting story hiding beneath his Flyers jersey number; he appears to have been assigned #82... seems he wore #28 in KHL... Giroux wore #28 with Flyers... obviously, the organization would not want to stir up any possible negative vibes among the fanbase, especially with those who are dissatisfied with the treating of Giroux departure... #82 is the reverse of #28... Flyers flipped his KHL number, probably with his approval.

All of the above is pure assumption from a long-time observer of the Flyers 'days of our lives' spin-off soap opera.

Q: Many call Kolosov one of the best goalies outside the NHL. What is the expectation for him, let’s say for next year?​

A:Well, you never know. The one thing with him, it’s kind of a freakish thing, is he’s played almost four years, I think, in the KHL. He played as an 18-year-old, which is unheard of. So, he’s got lots of experience, played at a high level, has played big games. He doesn’t play for the strongest team in his league — and he gets peppered a lot of nights, and it’s been really good. I think he, realistically, will need time in the American League, just to adjust to the pro game over here, with all the traffic and the arena size and all the different things. But he is highly athletic, he’s competitive. His interest is playing in the NHL and not the American League so we’ll see where it goes.​

Sure you can blame him. He doesn't want to fight for it if that is the case. Wants it handed to him.

he walked into a great situation as the Flyers goaltending is suspect at best. No goalie has a long term deal so no real commitment.

Here's Bill's take. Basically, the Flyers haven't heard from Kolosov that he wants to stay in Europe next year, it's just the Belorussian report. We'll see what happens. I actually have some sympathy for the kid. Probably thought he was coming to be Flyers' backup next season, signed and his move to Lehigh announced. Then Fedotov, unexpectedly to all of us, appears, beats him to Philly and joins the Flyers.

I'll be honest, just for the shit of it, I'd love to see Fedotov and Kolosov fight it out next year for the Flyers. If anything, what do the Flyers really have to lose? Imagine failing for Hagens.

Can't blame the kid. Comes over here and ends up alone in LV. No offense to the people that live there but it's not on the usual American tour. He should have been kept in Philly where there are Russian teammates and worked out here. If this goes badly, it's the greatest mess up with Russian players since Bobrovsky was in town. He should be here getting acclimated to NA- language lessons, work in NHL rinks, finding a suitable place to live and some friends.

Kolosov being the #2 next year was never happening. They needed someone to take starts away from Ersson and Kolosov was never that guy, unless he just blew the doors off in camp.

What wouldn’t have surprised me was coming over and backing up Petersen, who put up a sterling .887, and wonder why he came over to begin with. KHL players are usually led to believe they are the far superior league, he should be thinking that if he was good enough to back up, he should’ve played.

Sounds like a lack of communication... which is the main complaint Russian guys have of NHL/AHL. Likewise North Americans in KHL.

When you're in a totally foreign environment it's sooo much easier to thrive when you know what the short/long term expectations are, the reasons behind decisions being made, where one's place in the organization is, etc. Otherwise you just feel lost.... especially with a language barrier.
