The atmosphere in Prague and Ostrava when Czechia or Slovakia is playing is better than I remember seeing at any international, or really any hockey game in a long time. I hope at least one of those two teams goes far in the tournament.

Just take away Bedard

There's a lot of extra information about the logo, which is basically irrelevant, and can muddy the impression, but here's what I'm reading:

In the lawsuit, Sanders said she was sexually harassed in 2022 by a man working with the organization.
The underline is mine, but the word 'with' is doing a lot of heavy lifting. Working 'for' is another thing.

In response to harassment allegations made by Ms. Sanders:

The Chicago Blackhawks have a zero tolerance policy for misconduct and take allegations of harassment in the workplace very seriously. In response to Ms. Sanders' allegations, the organization immediately conducted a thorough investigation with the assistance of outside counsel, including interviews with internal and external parties, and review of pertinent materials and digital records. Based on the information available to us, we found insufficient evidence to substantiate her claims. Of note, the persons identified by Ms. Sanders in your question are not, and have never been, independent contractors with nor employees of the Chicago Blackhawks.
At least two of the men accused of sexual harassment in the lawsuit worked for Native American entities that were receiving money the team's charity, CBS Chicago found. On Wednesday, CBS Chicago reached one of the men by phone, Joe Podlasek, who is the founder of the Trickster Cultural Center in Schaumburg. He denied the allegations.

So the issue is that she complained to her supervisor about inappropriate conduct at team events, and nothing was done about it.

IIHF rules are not NHL rules, but this wouldn't be a goal in either.

IIHF is more of a straight forward 'can't be in the crease'. Like it's still 1998.

The NHL would consider a screen by a player in the crease, as goalie interference.

Good insight on why locker room culture matters, crazy when you get a player like Miller who was immature when he was younger but surrounded by great leadership now turning into leader for a younger group.

"I was coming from playoffs teams!"

Craig Berube will be Toronto’s new head coach, 4 year deal.
I'm getting the feeling that Canadian teams, and Toronto in particular, are outside the nice coach/mean coach binary (which is good). You can't approach every player the same way all the time.

Toronto feels that they're under a lot of pressure from the fans and media, which didn't really exist in St. Louis. If fans think that Berube is going to be successful yelling and working the guys up all the time, they may need to adjust their expectations. Allegedly, Pat Maroon had to tell Berube to cool it in game 7 of the 2019 SCF.

NHL head coaches also don't usually win cups with multiple teams, outside of Scotty Bowman.

Interested to see if Necas gets traded. High end skill player who doesn't fit Carolina's dump and chase, work ethic system and is inconsistent when the game gets tighter in the playoffs

The Arizona Coyotes are still updating their Twitter account and team website.

Utah doesn't have either.

Rags play ticky-tack and look for the perfect play, and Turds take the body and control loose pucks. (yes, rags and two posts...so what). Pretty much dominated the game, territorially and physically. When 10 is your best player, you're in trouble.

“It’s time for fans and artists to stop paying the price for Live Nation’s monopoly,” Attorney General Merrick Garland said. “It is time to restore competition and innovation in the entertainment industry. It is time to break up Live Nation-Ticketmaster. The American people are ready for it.”

Good. It's about time. I was at Amalie the night we beat Montreal for the Cup and I no joke had to pay like $700 in "processing fees" or whatever they call it where they charge you whatever they want just because they can. Like they are putting in big work

f*** these guys
Did you buy it online or through the box office/team? There aren't as many fees if you buy a ticket through the box office.

A cup clinching game is pretty hectic, though, so you do what you have to do.

Breaking up Ticketmaster should be a net positive, but my only real concern is how that will affect ticket sales reps. Being able to offer tickets cheaper than online is their big advantage.

The first thought would be a minor league, but something I've been thinking about is senior hockey.

Senior hockey is a bigger deal in Canada. It's what the Sudbury Bulldogs are on the show Shoresy.

It'd be interesting to build that ecosystem in a place like Newfoundland. A place that loves hockey, but whose travel costs are clearly prohibitive to most leagues.

If we want to see relegation/promotion in North American hockey, that would be the kind of situation to try it.

Women's pro hockey is proving to be decently viable, but overbuilding would be a mistake.

Oilers are so lucky that McDavid is as good as he is .. look at their draft history outside of him. They have like 3 players that are decent outside of the 1st rd since 2006
