You need the actual card or verified digital proof, NYS has an app that has a scannable QR code, not sure if other states do or would be acceptable. I don’t believe a picture would satisfy the requirements.

it really depends on where you will be in the area.

pizza and wings…there are many decent local pizza and wing stores. Many of them are designed for take out with limited seating.

localplace…teds hot dogs
local sandwich…beef on weck ( many places have this on the menu)

my home area is the tonawanda ( north, City, town).this is between buffalo and Niagara Falls. There are a few local places I go to for pizza and wings when I’m back in my home town area

Paula‘s is the local donut place

with Niagara Falls…. You can walk over the rainbow bridge to see the other side. You need passport/ passport card/ enhanced drivers license and Covid vax records.

Niagara. The other sounds like knockoff viagra. :D

You might want to check out Riverworks - they have some interesting things to do: Buffalo Riverworks

Relatively near there is also Canalside, which has some activities both historical (Naval and Servicemen's Park, the boardwalk, river and lake cruises, boat rentals) and social (concerts, movies, food/ice cream, adult beverages): Canalside (Buffalo) - All You Need to Know BEFORE You Go

There are a lot of local breweries and distilleries now. A bit of fun that used to be had if you are around on a Tuesday is the food truck rally at Larkinville - Food Truck Tuesdays | Things to Do in Larkin Square

Flying Bison and Buffalo Distillery are just up the road from Larkinville and on the way to the Paul's Donuts downtown (which are okay, but eh... some people love 'em).

I recommend you also go across to Ontario. See both sides. You can park on the American side at Niagara Falls (Reservation) State Park, walk to the brink of the Horseshoe falls on the American side, and then walk across the Rainbow bridge and continue along the gorge via the Niagara Parkway to the brink of the Horseshoe falls on the Canadian side. That walking circuit one-way is +/- 2.5 miles (depending on how meandering) and can be done in a little less than an hour (one-way).

Late August / early Sept is a beautiful time of year to be there.

Although the NYS public schools (K-12) don't start classes until after Labor Day, most of the colleges and universities start August 29th, so move-in will be the last weekend in August. If your wedding event is the 1st w/e in Sept, you should be golden and avoid any extra "college traffic" all along I-90 from Albany to BUF.

I've booked air travel and tickets for VGK and Bruins Nov 10, 12. All I could get for a hotel room for my son and me was a king suite plus sofa bed. Almost every hotel in the downtown area is booked solid 3 months in advance of this trip.

Anyone know what's going on the week of Nov 7-11, a convention or something maybe?

hello fellow bills and sabres fans.

i'm making the trip for the steelers game. i live in troy, but have always had family in buffalo so am usually there 2-3 times per year. been to uncountable sabres games so that's an old hat. however, i've only ever been to maybe 5 or 6 bills games and this will be my first time going where i have to drive and handle the trip myself.

i'm staying in amherst near UB. looking for any tips on the following:

- best driving route to take from from amherst to the stadium and what the traffic might look like. what are typical traffic patterns/trends at different times Sunday morning?
- how long i should expect the trip from amherst to the stadium to take and how long the traffic might take on the way back after the game.
- best place to park that helps for a quicker exit after the game.
- any tips for stadium entry, best spots/lot sections to check out the tailgating (as a curious spectator only haha), anything else i should know.

any tips for any of the above is greatly appreciated. thanks folks. squish the fish.

In order:

1. The best route to take to GET to Highmark is the 290 to the Thruway, then get on the 219 at Exit 55 and take that to either Milestrip Rd or Route 20A.
2. It'll take about 20 minutes using the route mentioned in #1.
3. The Wings Lot on California Rd. does have a reputation for having quick exits after a game. AND it's a hell of a lot cheaper than using the lots around Highmark; they're at $20/car(whereas the lots are at $40). PLUS if you didn't bring any grub, they have some available there.
4. The Hammer Lot on Abbott Road has the best reputation for checking out the tailgating.

Just a reminder Canada has lifted border crossing restrictions as of today 10-1-22. Come spend your money at the malls, do Christmas shopping, restaurants, sporting events (lets get Keybank rocking again!), parks, downtown, southern tier, etc. they need it and vice versa into Canada. Stay safe, healthy, and get boosted if your older or at risk please.

going to the game vs Florida one week from now. Is Macy’s Pizza worth eating at? Already doing Bar-Bill North after the game.

Question on hotels: there are hotel clusters outside of town and by the airport. Is there regular bus service between these places and the downtown terminal? If I could pay $70 for a room in January when I'm going to Ryan Miller Night instead of $125 for one downtown that would be great.
