There used to be some decent knowledgeable posters on there but the lunatic reality-free extremists that swarm that board like roaches drove them off. Their party line is that the devils have the best core and that mystical extraneous factors prevent them from winning a cup every year. If anyone posts anything positive about any other team, they get attacked and driven off. What a bunch of losers.

The Trouba-Gus pairing is what we've been waiting for in the third pair forever.

The third and fourth lines dominated the caps and put a f***ing hurt on them every shift - they really have no answer for Rempe and Goodrow laying out punishing hits every shift. I'd like to see what shape Carlson is going to be in by game 4.

Let's take care of business here and do it quickly.
That entire board is an embarrassment. It’s utterly hilarious what that fanbase has become.

You hate to see it.

Always enjoy a win.

Still can't help but feel this will be the most boring of all the first round series (though I missed CAR / NYI). The pace and intensity of FL / TB and COL / WPG has been insane. Even BOS / TOR was entertaining, if you focus on hits and game speed.

With how thin the caps are on D, we gotta keep rempe in the duration of this series and just let him slowly deteriorate the d’s body on the forecheck.

Lol, way to cope
I wonder which 5 he's referring to. When we scored three goals in the 2nd? Or some point during the first 12-15 of the 3rd when the Caps didn't register a SOG despite having a PP in there?

I kind of feel like the whole Rempemania is going to put a lot of pressure on this kid to be great and if he turns out to be less than spectacular it's going to mess with him majorly.

Rempe just rules. I love his personality, I love his size, I love his energy. A guy like him 10 minutes a night he can actually move the needle in short periods of times with the mistmatches his size and energy creates.

Panarin GWG btw. Game winning goal in his first postseason game after the 2023 debacle, good sign.

So happy for Rempe... he was just ALL smiles

The refs were atrocious.

How can they call BS ticky tacky shit & let BLATANT high sticks etc just slide by???

I voted for Laf as a star... his hit created the 2nd goal & he was noticeable all night.
same. laf rempe, vesey rempe, and rempe rempe

eh. i actually think he's got a decent head on his shoulders. There's good structure and leadership on this team, I think he knows what his role is.

You’d think so but I dunno - he doesn’t seem to worry about it. He could be a genuinely “fun” player who’s just happy to be where he is. I don’t think he’ll get sucked into the drama. The way he laughed at McIlraith and just skated away points to an emerging maturity perhaps….?

This is the exact reason fans love this guy. Dude is legit having the time of his life. We're all like that if we ever got a shot to do this. You hear it in his voice.

Every fan says they'd love to have a run on their favorite team. It's your dream as a kid. This wasn't his favorite team as a kid, but his dream was to be an NHLer and man he's become one.

You wonder, if this kind of personality comes out in draft meetings. You need skills, but a guy like this is infectious in the room. Yeah he's a little goofy right now, but he's 21, what should we expect?

I don't want to get too excited about this win. It's one game against a team that we are supposed to beat. That being said, this team is playing with an edge and a chip on its shoulder, which has become sharper and bigger as the season continues.

It should be no surprise that it started when Rempe made his debut during the Stadium Series game against the Islanders.

Can't argue with the result. 2nd was a lot of fun. Enjoyed the edge the Rangers brought - keep hitting their defensemen... they have 3 NHL calibre ones left?

I'm sure the caps will adjust and step up their own physicality next game. Hopefully the Rangers don't think they are playing on easy mode now.

sorry only time for coupla pgs
....

yeah the narrative that "he cant play" was always wrong. he's not just a goon.
And those among us who called it, in real time, step forth and take a bow
lest you be stuck w/mud from naysayers

Missed the game (on vacation) but was following the score. So team looked pretty good today?

Saw Rempe got a goal which made me chuckle a bit. How was it?
HG, hope you are well enjoying the vaycay

someone correct me if nec or drop in a video but basically:
- line got puck control, advanced into DC zone
- Rempe turned on the jets and skated to -> past -> around net before going back around to prime scoring slot 10-15 ft in front of /to side of net
- his size + quickness [legit but also exploiting Caps slowness] was a factor
- team mate made good pass from one side to other feeding Rempe
- who wasted no time burying it

AND THE CROWD GOES WILD!!!!!!!!!!!!

Seriously every time the Caps entered the zone I thought it was offsides because they were moving so slowly.
Yes, and this is why you have to lean youth over vets
Sure exceptions like Kreider, bread are exceptionally gifted skaters w/superior speed, but usually youth w/mo energy = faster than vets
