I was going to say, one of the most unexpected set wins I think I’ve ever seen. But Novak saves a SP. His serve and timing have temporarily gone though.

Love Joker throwing the celly back in Shelton's face. It's almost like he's saying "hey that's pretty cool you learned how to serve so fast. Now learn how to play tennis."

That celebration was amazing. Listen, people who don’t like him at baseline aren’t going to like it.

The guy literally applauds great shots by opponents on the court and is super thoughtful/analytical/gracious during press conferences and it hasn’t changed anyone’s minds about him.

Still thinks he loses in 4 to Carlos on Sunday but great year regardless of what happens at age 36.

Daniel is going to need a better game plan than he devised in their last two meetings.
Court position certainly hasn’t changed. Admittedly he looks good early, ball striking it good, but there’s no way he’s winning this.

Alcaraz is utterly ridiculous. I know it seems crazy but how is this guy not going to win 4 a year when Novak is done?

Medvedev is a stubborn guy. He is still standing 20 feet in back of the baseline to receive serve.

Medvedev finally shows some offensive intent but the result is no different, Alcaraz is still picking off Daniil's long range returns and volleying them easily for outright winners, 6-5.

Daniil serves it to a breaker, one he needs to win worse than Carlos.

Carlos falters on the last four points and, what's ya know, Medvedev nabs the first set breaker.

Carlos picks a bad time to go flat as Daniil continues his surge. Looks like the early "rope a dope" strategy is paying off.

I don't think this is a nightmare match up anymore, at least not for Daniil. HIs game seems two levels up from his previous two meetings with Carlos.

Medvedev’s court position has changed so much since point 1. Aggressive. He’s hitting unbelievable, haven‘t seen him hit his FH this well consistently.

Not that it matters one bit, but some of the ball boys/girls are almost 50 years old, it looks like haha. Impressive!

Holy f***, what a point to go up 5-1 in second set.
