Charlie Coyle signed that contract prior to the 2020 season and is a worse defensive player, has had 3 seasons in his career over 50% in the circle and scores almost identically without the defensive responsibilities as Cirelli.

So what changed? I don't have any details shot volumes/types and have been a bit out of the loop with fancy stats. Hard to accept the only thing influencing our save percentage is a single individual on the ice.

A big part is our defensive system, some of his strengths are being physical and aggressive and we allow a lot of long range shots.

Tampa, FL.
People that are complaining about Cirelli on here will have to whine a long time, as he's very likely not being traded for quite a while. He was good again tonight. There's a lot more than just point production. Cirelli brings a lot more than that. If he was a ppg or close player over the last few years, Tampa would never have been able to afford him. So.while it'd be great if he could be a ~55 point a year guy instead of ~45, he remains a key part of the core.

Cirelli did look good tonight. Every once in a while he and Hagel look like they are building some chemistry.

Cirelli has 0 seasons where he is above 50% in the faceoff dot.

Has 1 actually, and five seasons of selke voting plus an ASG
Sorry 2/8 seasons he had a winning fo percentage. He is great defensively but doesn't generate or drive enough offense to be in the top 6. 49.1% for his career in the face off circles , 0.53ppg, and selke defense sounds like a perfect line center.

We were fine with it when others stepped up but now he has to step up because of his cap # and others are not. It's an understandable thing to want out of him but at this point we also should understand that he's not that. You either trade him to try to get more out of that money or you try to match what we had before we expected that which isn't as easy to do but at least you had success with that. Won some cups with it. Limited cap limits ability to match that again but doesn't necessarily mean it can't be done. Low cost production is something everyone covets but feel like we've done as good a job at that over the league as some of top out there. Next few weeks will be interesting to see which direction they go with what cap is available with sergs injury. Tough job for jbb. East is pretty wide open and the east doesn't have a kucherov and maybe vasi if he's at top of his game when we need it most.

Cal Foote doesn't seem to be available anymore...
I'd be okay with nothing back but the picks to acquire literally anything that helped the team to get more production on the ice. Jeannot hasn't been great or the worst player when he plays, but he is 100% ineffective when he doesn't play.

Can you elaborate on why you are bringing up Coyle, I missed your point :)

I mean, jeannots game is better suited to the playoffs anyway, so maybe we can keep him under bubble wrap since he doesn’t really move the needle much on getting us to the playoffs really.

Glad to hear there was little to no soft tissue damage. Yeah, I doubt this season is going to be worth rushing his recovery. At least it won't impact his offseason and he'll be ready for next year.
From the way he went down, it looked like he could have completely destroyed his knee joint, a potentially career-ending injury.

Fortunately it was only fractures. That is fantastic news, bone being the only tissue in the body that heals with stronger, higher-grade material than the original.

That he didn't tear his anterior or posterior cruciate ligament, medial collateral ligament or medial meniscus is an absolute miracle. Everyone in Tampa Bay and the hockey world should be celebrating that until he makes his triumphant return next season. (No matter how deep we might go in this year's postseason, assuming we even make it to the show...why bring him back right away. If we've miraculously made it to the Final without him, there'd be no point in upsetting the chemistry that got us there IMHO.)

But he is tough and we gave up a kings ransom. We should place him, Sheary, and abb together calling it why are on thr team line.
