I think there's a real good chance for Helenius at 11. And I'd be fine with that, would be a great pick.

But Helenius is my 12th, and would take Silayev/Lindstrom/Yakemchuk over him.

I'm pretty confident we will be picking one of those 4 players at 11

I don't think Silayev or Lindstrom get anywhere close to 11. Both could realistically go in the top 5.

I don't think Silayev is the same level prospect as Simashev and would be surprised if he goes top6. I guess I'd also be surprised if Lindstrom goes top6. But you're probably right.

Beaudoin has been one of my faves all year. He won't be there with our 2nd. Wouldn't mind trading up if possible, maybe our 2nd+Joker or Krebs gets us 10 spots higher.

Wow, I think this is a wrong opinion, but I’m a big fan of Simashev. Simashev, at Silaev’s age, still played in the juniors, and Silaev had a very good season in the KHL. He's huge with great skating and defensive play. This is literally exactly the defender we need. Silayev also plays for Torpedo, and Larionov works there, who does an excellent job of developing young players. If by some miracle Silayev were available at 11, grab him and run.

I loved Mike Grier so much as a player. So happy for him, he's in a really rough spot as the GM over there. I hope he can pull magic out of a hat (is that a saying?) and turn things around quickly so that I can have another underdog franchise to root for.

He pulled a magic rabbit out of the hat, that's for sure. Agree, I always liked him. Complete consummate professional and Ruff used him a lot more than I expected post-lockout. One of the less exciting offensive players haha, but very sound in every facet of the game otherwise.

11. Buffalo Sabres: Cole Eiserman, W, USNTDP​

The Sabres should make this pick available in trade discussions this summer. They need to upgrade their NHL roster in what could be a make-or-break season for general manager Kevyn Adams. Their prospect pool is loaded with talent already, so the Sabres could afford to move the pick for a proven NHL player. That said, there are a couple of attractive options in this scenario. Defenseman Carter Yakemchuk was a strong consideration, but Cole Eiserman’s goal-scoring talent was too much to pass up. The rest of his game needs work, which is why he’s available at this spot, but Eiserman has the type of scoring ability that could make him a top-line NHL winger. That’s a chance worth taking for Buffalo. — Matt Fairburn
