Speculation: Perfetti out a minimum of 8 weeks - Jets to add top 6 winger?

Doubt it based on the asking price and Sharks GM saying no contract talks before any trade..........pretty much ends all Jets/Timo chat
No contract talks before reaching trade parameters or an actual contract?

Edit, I can't find a quote but it was reported on the radio, but Chevy will not make any offer to trade for him unless there is a verbal agreement on a contract before, which hasn't happened yet. No teams have talked to Timo (lots articles out there confirming that) yet about any contracts, so permission hasn't been granted

Sharks GM said no contract talks with Timo, period. So you take your chances if Timo walks........no chance the Jets take that risk at that asking cost. Chevy would of just ok, thanks and ended all conversations at that point
where was that reported? all I saw is that they haven't allowed them yet...

I wouldn't expect teams like the Jets or the Sabres making any inquires if they didn't have a firm belief Meier would extend with them.
Not trying to flame here.

Winnipeg is a small market, not located on or near a beach and most certainly isn't tax free...........chances of any TOP FA signing in Winnipeg isn't tiny.......most times thats a good thing based on how many GM's shoot themselves in the foot each summer with dumb FA signings.

Timo is an RFA he can’t walk without compensation going to the club that he is on when his deal expires

I meant he would walk after the Q year is up assuming a one year deal is signed.......basically it would be a one year rental which would be a cost the Jets wouldn't pay. If he came with a verbal agreement on a contract that's a different story.

SJ has hardly been a hot spot for higher end FA's either. Usually we traded for a higher end player and once here they tend to like it and then we extend them

Adam Henrique w/ Retention would be a pretty nice pick up for Jets imo(but injured)

Similar to Winnipeg, but Cali has some huge advantages to keeping FA over Winnipeg.......Weather, bigger market/city and taxes. Chevy MO is very conservative GM, likely the most conservative in the NHL, he covets futures massively, for good reason the Jets are highly dependant on D&D to win and have done a pretty good considering all the negatives they have to deal with (hardest GM job in the NHL perhaps is Winnipeg). But he won't throw some massive offer at the Sharks without a contract agreed to beforehand with Timo, just no chance of that happening.
